This.
Are you an in-shape non-fatty white guy? You'll have your fair share of German chicks swarming you.
-Germans generally like Americans as long as you don't go full drunk retard American like most people in the military under the age of 25 will do.
-Learning German helps even if it's broken German. I'm fairly fluent and they're always surprised when I can understand them. Most Germans speak English and usually a few other languages.
-Go to fests. They're awesome, most Americans won't go to them, and you get to meet people/see different aspects within the German culture. Big one being the difference in beer between literally every city and town. Most towns have their own breweries or multiple breweries.
-Stay away from typical American clubs/bars. You'll only get in fights, get an STD from bar hoes, or arrested. Most of them blow anyway because you'll end up surrounded by more Americans.
Business as usual. Funny enough, we're having pay day activities tomorrow while the government is shutdown. It made me chuckle a little but then I realized I get off before noon on a Friday.Last edited by Daegus; 10-03-2013 at 06:03 AM.

When are you going? And where are you going? I should be going in the next 2 weeks or so on Ft. Campbell
lol I know those feels. Not sure how I feel about pay day activities but getting off early sounds good to me! Good day for me - got to miss the BN change of command ceremony today because of a doctors appointment awwwyeahh.jpg
Also Army brahs, today is the 20th anniversary of the Battle of Mogadishu. Just somethin to think about."If in my say 80 years on earth I do more help than damage, then I feel complete."

You shouldn't be so negative. a BN CoC ceremony is a special time in your life, you should feel honored to be there to not only welcome the new BN CO, but to also see the previous CO accomplish his mission.
There's nothing I love more than walking out into the afternoon sun and standing in formation...staring at the sun for 3 hours straight. Oh look, one of the wives got yellow flowers as a symbol of some ****, and another wife got another color flowers as a symbol of some other ****. Oooh goodie, some general wants to talk about some ****. I hope he talks forever and that both the incoming and outgoing CO get to say a bunch of ****.
In all honesty, why do these people even give speeches? They have to know that not a god damn person there gives a flying **** what they have to say.“I play real sports…not trying to be the best at exercising.” -Kenny Powers

You mean I'm not the only one that doesn't like watching the band walk down and back up the whole entire division parade field while standing at attention with your beret on?
The third time rehearsing a division ceremony, we got told "when you're out there sweating and about to collapse, just rub your patch on your left arm and that will give you the motivation to drive on"
JUST STFU AND LET US LEAVE ALREADY."If in my say 80 years on earth I do more help than damage, then I feel complete."

I think being an incoming group or division commander and screaming zonk into the mic during your remarks would probably be the best feeling ever

I would love that commander tenderly forever.
brb, new life goal is to become a BC and scream zonk into the mic during my change of command ceremony. It would be worth it. Or maybe just get everyone gathered up and in their companies for a 25 mile ruck or something, then zonking them for a 4 day."If in my say 80 years on earth I do more help than damage, then I feel complete."

Sup military brahs
I know quite a bit about the military since all my friends are in it and I've done extensive reading. Question, though:
For OFFICER, are the following 2 things waiver able:
Shellfish allergy
Been prescribed to Wellbutrin for a month for possible seasonal depression (****ty weather here)
I can and have maxed the PFT and ASVAB in the past. No hospitalizations, drugs, etc. US Citizen. Masters degree.
Also is the student loan repayment program (SLRP) still going on?Do you think girls who lift weights are sexy? Check out http://sexyfitchicks.com and help get girls OFF the treadmills and INTO the squat rack! We provide daily updates and are also on ********, Twitter, and Pinterest!

Strong advice, will consider
However I think it was probably mainly due to the fact that I don't enjoy my work (as in, I give no benefit to society, I don't work with anything tangible, I'm a cog in a wheel, I'm not proud of it NOT it's too hard). Moreso than chit weather, tbh. I've always had a thing for the military and it would be something I would do proudly.Do you think girls who lift weights are sexy? That is seriously a big part of it (at least for me).
Although I'm one of those suckers for punishment. I leave the Army because I'm sick of having to wear a uniform, get haircuts and shave, be told what to do, not allowed to get in trouble, or do drugs, etc.
And I get a job where I have to wear a uniform (well, sometimes), get haircuts and shave, i'm told what to do, i can't get in trouble or do drugs.
It pays a lot better though

Oh yea, and this waas all during a wartime Army, when you could actually do your job once in a while.
Now that everything is winding down, and it's gonna be a garrison Army again..............don't even want to imagine it. fuk

Kindly imagine being a less than human cog in a corporation with more meaningless training and less than under qualified and over promoted leaders who have control over your personal life as well as work, and company that with more than necessary regulations that follow you everywhere even on vacation. And this Corp can pull you anywhere in the world on short notice to a different base for inordinate amounts of time.
