Looking for help with PT software

    Hi all,

I recently just left my corporate job to get into the fitness industry. I've been reading this part of the forum a lot and learned tons on what certs to get, how to get clients / start out and so on, but I haven't found anything on software.

Do y'all have any recommendations on software that can save me time / enhance the service I offer to my clients?

Specifically though I was curious if there is anything for tracking progress, or if everyone uses paper or spreadsheets.

    Thanks in advance!

Couldn't tell you. There is an app that is made to track your progress through the P90X workout program. You may be able to use it for regular training, worth a look.

Are you looking for software to track clients progress? If yes, probably the best Ive seen is BSDI. you can track bdy weight, strength, blood pressure, cholesterol levels etc.

You didnt say if you had a website or not. This is very important for trainers even those who work in a gym. Here is my step by step guide to how I made my websites http://www.joe-cannon.com/install-wo...-step-by-step/

I do not have a site at the moment but was planning on making one, I'll be sure to check out your guide. Question about BSDI: are you using their web solution or desktop download? Also how much are you paying if you mind me asking, I couldn't find any pricing information

I'll check it out, sounds like it might be limiting though in terms of what exercises I can track

My clients get their own folder in which we track everything. I don't have a standard template (should really set one up TBF but I'm lazy when it comes to that sort of stuff because I just hate it and have other shyte to do) so make one especially for each client. I just stick it in a word or excel file and keep a softcopy, giving them a hardcopy.

Thanks, another trainer I was talking to did something similar (clients could check their own folder) but they told me they stopped because clients weren't using it. Are you giving them a hard copy in person or leaving it for them to pick up as they choose?

It seems most people are finding paper and pen to be the easiest. I might be starting my own business in near future and collecting any useful information. So, thanks keung for bringing this up. I was looking at BSDI website, it already looks so outdated and not too interesting. Are there any other options? Secondly I was also wondering if you found something for handling clients notifications and reminders.
