I need some opinions please!
I am 31 years old x semi-pro football player who just decided to start playing competitive golf a year ago. I am 300lbs and 6'4 in height.
I know how to weight train for football and i also know free weights are the best but i know nothing about machines because i have never used them.
My goal is to drop down to 230lbs and get lean as possible for the up coming golf season
my question is this... can i get in shape just using machines or am i wasting my time? i just want to be toned more than anything because in golf bulky is not a good thing. please help

Ill say this, everything has its place when it comes to exercise. Are machines horrible? No not at all but i wouldnt only use machines for your workouts unless there is some sort of injury or something along those lines that stop you from using free weights. A lot of the time machines are not a natural motion, for example the smith machine. I would take free weight squats over smith machine squats any day
