How can a Quest bar be 170 calories?
Chocolate Brownie Quest bar
C=24 *4=96cal
F=6 *9=54cal
P=20 *4=80cal
_______________
= 230 cal
Wheres the problem here? What am I missing?
if anything has surprised me so far in my work, it's the complete disassociation between IQ and "exercise intelligence"

America is suffering from an obesity epidemic and companies need to sell their products.

So its blatantly mislabeled? Ive read thing can be 10-15% off but this looks like more 35.2%?
So whats wrong?
Is the 4-9-4 a bit off or is that label way off?

Post this in the supplement section, i think you might get a better answer. The quest guys hang out on that side.
I love them bars, i wish i could afford to eat them often. I eat them as a quick snack at work. I dont think i will be buying them again, $$, I'll stick with my canned sardines or 1/4 cup dry roasted edamame as my cheaper protein snack again. Money is getting tight around here!

i think it has to do with the 17g of dietary carbs in them, since your body doesn't digest them

Dietary fiber which is listed as a carbohydrate on US labels is not 4 calories per gram. Insoluble fibers are often counted as 0 calories per gram.

Thx for the replies. Dietary carbs would add up to right around the error of margin.
I actually like chugging ON shakes better than I enjoyed this brownie bar. I was buying it to look for something for someone who doesnt like the shakes and has stomach issue with them. They are pricy, but, it wasn't so bad at 18.84 a box shipped last week during BB's 25% sale. In the end, if it gets their protein intake up, it's worth it.

I don't know the ingredients in this product, but are there any sugar alcohols?
Those and fiber are counted towards the total carbs and both have less than 4 calories per gram.
