weighed 154 today so up 1 pound. Dietwise I didnt do good this week Sunday I had a "refeed/binge day" because my body wasn't sweating anymore and body was retaining more and more water each day. It actually helped because now my body is acting regular again.
Also been following Ice Cream Fitness 5x5 bodybuilding novice routine. My strength has gone up during this cut
Bench: 145lbs(Feb1st) - 170lbs(Apr19)
Squat: 115lbs(Feb1st) - 200-205lbs(Apr19)
Deadlifts: 135lbs(Feb1st) - 250lbs(Apr19)
mostly regaining lost strength before hurting my back tho.

Hey I havent been on in awhile. I was on a small vacation in Kansas City, MO and it was great! I was just checking out a bible school there. I didn't care what I ate and just went with the flow and I got up to 179. (a lot of water weight). I am probably going to switch gears to bulking soon. Ive nearly cut weight for a year, and I think its time to take a break from that. I have some fat on me still and Id love to see a six pack clearly, but I have cut for a long time without much results. It was my first cut ever.

It happens I am 14 lbs from my cutting goal and had my first week where I was perfect nitrition wise and the scale stayed the same fortunately I had a good result this week once I hit 170 I will access and likely start to gear up for a bulk depending when i hit it I may maintain for a stretch find my true maintenance and then bulk late summer/fall. I can't imagine having to go less than 170 I've never been that light as an adult my leanest ever was 177.8 however if it looks like cutting a little longer once I get there makes sense I have set a max of cutting to 165 lbs and regardless will bulk from there.

Holy @#$%.
I'm dieing here. LOL!
Upper body is DOMing hard from thursdays workout (since I upped my cals for cutting I upped the number of lifts per body part) and lower body is killing me from the almost 3 mile speed walk with the dog. She is a sapz & according to GPS we clocked an average speed of 3.6 MPH.
I am SOOO glad my buddies apartment wasn't ready today.
Plus it's fricken snowing where I live now & it's blowing like 30 mph where he lives.
I might need to take a soak in the whirlpool tub later.
It'll be well worth the hassle of cleaning it.

I'm coming in at 181. I touched the 170s briefly the other day. I seriously need a lifting partner soon.

It was a first and I walked mostly with the girl I went with I do plan to run one under sub 30 mins I plan to start going to a track and timing myself for 12 laps I think that's 3 miles to see how I do when trying for speed. It was fun though and for a good cause so well worth it.

Ok so the 12 laps didn't quite go down as planned maybe I shouldn't try to run after doing an upper body workout but I did run 1 lap and clocked it at just over 2 minutes. That pace isn't sustainable for too long though so I need to go again and find a pace that allows me to finish 4 laps at a roughly consistent pace. I think I need to just gradually work my way up maybe run a lap walk a lap run a lap or something like that to slowly build up endurance. Beyond that I had a good weekend overall and ready for what should be the last full super busy week until July.

Rough weekend Diet wise... I took Thursday, Fri & Sat off at gym. Diet was horrible all weekend. I did legs yesterday, am sore from that. Was girls birthday on Thursday, so celebrated with plenty of good food and drink most of the weekend.
Overall, not too much damage was done I think. I did a 3 mile walk on Saturday, played ball a bit yesterday and bowled and did plenty of "cardio"
No more than a 1 lb fat gain from the weekend I am sure. Just gonna take a few days to work off the water weight. Going to hit it hard this week. Want to be at a new low by Friday.Last edited by TelusLob; 04-22-2013 at 05:59 AM.

So who's on board for another four months? I know I am.
I'm actually pretty curious what will happen next week - I'm going on a week-long road trip with two friends. There will be plenty of restaurant food for sure - however, I imagine we'll be mostly keeping it to one major meal a day, with the rest of our eating being from rest stops and the like. This means that I can more or less IF for the week - just abstain for most of the driving, and eat normally when we stop at restaurants. There will be no lifting for the week, of course, and no cardio, and I'm not going to track my intake - but I AM going to try to avoid just eating like total garbage.
I think I'll call this week one of my diet break, then have one more week of "proper" eating at maintenance with lifting after we get back. Then back on the horse - I think in another month or two I can get to a place where I feel comfortable trying to put on some muscle. I can't wait

I will be as well. Its time for me to start stepping up in my diet. I've basically been at 172-175 for the past 3 months. I'm back on track although its tough figuring out things to eat for meals since I am cooking for myself! I have basically been eating 8 oz-13 oz's of meat daily just to hit my protein reqs. It gets pretty expensive... Like 120 dollars a month just for protein reqs. Any idea's for meals that would have decent amounts of macros that are quick and easy/filling?
I made tuna hotdish for supper (6 servings) that have 25g protein. I forgot how much noodles 2 oz's is cooked! it filled up my whole plate... But anyways by the end of July, No matter what I look like, I will be bulking. If I can put in 2.5 good months of being strict and hitting 1800-1900 cals without fail, then I should be almost to 10% bf.

Probably want to get some good whey to supplement with if you're having trouble hitting protein requirements. Otherwise, don't count out eggs - you can do a lot with them, add them in to just about anything, and they are full of nutrition. Plus, you know, they taste good.
Also, I like tofu. Marinate it and bake it and it packs a lot of flavor, or just grill it and add it to other stuff to bulk it up and add flavor.

They taste good but I get huge stomach aches/other things from eggs. So i no longer eat them. I do have whey powder, I just try to stay away from using it. Got a question for ya! I have been wanting to get other people's advice on this. Do you think it'd may be good for me to do a 5-6 month lean bulk? Im sitting around 175 lbs (180 atm due to water retention from my vacation). Basically I haven't made much progress on this cut, and ive been on it since last May. Do you think I'd actually be at an advantage if I were to bulk up? Beginner gains + 19 years old. If I were to choose this route, I'd go up to 210 lbs doing a lean bulk then cut down to 10%

The way I see it, the only advantage you'd have by starting a bulk would be psychological. If you're not making progress in your cut it'd just be a matter of lowering your calories a bit further, though if you're sick of cutting then I suppose it would be beneficial to you to bulk so you can steer away from the cutting mentality for a while.
I also don't think you should set weight goals when bulking/cutting, it only leads to longer/shorter bulks/cuts than you otherwise would do. Cut until you feel like you don't have the mass to pull a lower BF%, bulk until you feel like you're getting too fat. Repeat as many times as needed until you're satisfied.
Also, why do you try not using whey?

Still at 170lbs. LOL!
IDK tonight is deads, legs & cardio.
My new gym doesn't open for a few more days.
Does anyone use an app on their phone or tablet to track their workout?
I might need something that doesn't need internet access to do this.
The bb.com app needs internet access plus it's kinda sluggish.
Ben looking at a few for my 7" tablet since i'll be loading that up with stuff to watch while doing cardio might as well track my lifts on it also.
