I saw how helpful you guys are on this forum and decided to sign up to ask for advice.
Im 5'8 (male) A week and a half ago i was 172 lbs. It was then when i started my calorie deficit and the Insanity workout.
Now, im 166 pounds and ive noticed a difference. But i was only eating 600-1000 a day in calories that week.
MY QUESTION: is it true that my body will stop losing weight and when i eat ill gain it back? Should i up my calories to 1200-1500 and just be patient?
Also, i have trouble eating all the calories i need.. Is it okay to eat things like mac and cheese (junk) just to make it to my calorie goal? The healthy foods i eat arent enough calorically (is that a word?). Lol
I know it a lot to take in but THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
EDIT: to AJL1, i read that it of you eat at a low enough defecit, your metabolism will screw up so much that even if you up your calories a little, you will gain a lot of weight- thus gaining it all back.
Everyone else, thank you! Im definitly going to up my calories to a more healthy and reasonable number. (Looking into TDEE) Might add a multivitamin in the mix just in case.
Here we go.

I am going to assume you are cutting.
What do you mean by "my body will stop losing weight and when i eat ill gain it back again"? I don't really understand this. If you are eating at a calorie deficit, you will lose weight. If you are eating at a surplus you will gain weight. 600-1000 calories is nowhere near enough though, I think you realise that you need more food than that. Work out your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) and eat around 20% less than that.
As far as eating junk food to get your calories goes, it should fine as long as you hit your macros. Just make sure you eat plenty of veggies too (or at least take a multi-vitamin) to get your micronutrients. Try to eat 'clean' food when you can for obvious health reasons, but in terms of body composition it doesn't really matter.
Edit: Be sure to read the stickies, they will help you out a lot.

If you only eat 600-1000 calories a day it is impossible to get the macronutrients you need. You won't stop losing weight in the long term but you will damage your metabolism, you would be much better of with a moderate deficit. As well as that, crash dieting nearly always leads to a rebound.

600-1000 cals a day is much too little. Definitely up it to a reasonable and healthy amount. 600-1000 is not healthy and will cause health problems if you continue.
Your weight will change based on how many calories you're getting in and how much you're putting out.. To answer your question, you will stop losing weight when you stop eating at a deficit. When you eat at maintenance you will maintain your weight, and if you eat at a surplus, you will gain weight.
There's nothing wrong with eating calorie dense foods such as macaroni and cheese. Just make sure you're meeting your macro and micro nutrients by the end of the day.
No, calorically is not a word, lol.The first known contraceptive was crocodile dung, used by Egyptians in 2000 B.C.

I've never done the Insanity workout, but I understand it's a highly intense cardio workout (correct me if I'm wrong). You shouldn't mix that kind of workout with a vlcd. If you want to go the vlcd, you need to know what you're doing or you will lose muscle. Try the Rapid Fat Loss handbook by Lyle McDonald. Keep cardio at a minimum (like a brisk walk a couple times per week), lift heavy a few times per week, set protein and efas. If you are going to be doing intense cardio, you need to up your calories.
