I plan to bulk up with Starting Strength and eat a calorie surplus, but what about when starting out? Im starting all lifts with the just the olympic bar so intensity will be low. Should I start eating my 3000 calories from the start, or gradually ease into it?

gradually work up to the calories by adding cals each weak. If you bulking at 3000 and you cut at 2200 do you not think dropping 800 cals out of your diet would be good? Thats how you lose muscle. You want to bulk and then slowly ease off calories each week so you can cut and show what you did during your bulking phase. cheers
