To answer this week's question, if my wife gave me that ultimatum, I'd cut my training down to 2 days per week. She's already put up with me enough times and I doubt that I'd be able to find someone who would be willing to do the same. And not to sound too sappy here, but my wife really is my best friend. So it would never be worth losing someone who means so much to me over something that will never make me any money, give me fame, etc. So to me, it's a no brainer that I'd cut things down to twice a week. But in the end, let's be clear about one thing. I would be so mad and frustrated that I might change my mind later on, haha.

To address this weeks topic, I would take in to consideration the most important things which are how important working out is to me and my lift, and the status of the relationship with my girlfriend is. In a perfect world where the relationship couldn't be any better, I'd have to say that I would adjust my training regimen as my girlfriend desires. In doing this I would be going to a regimen that hits all body parts + HIIT within those two days.
If the relationship is anything but perfect, on the other hand...pls go girlfriend. My priorities in life are family, education, and lifting, respectively. So if my girlfriend is something serious that I could see developing in the future, there is no chance I am going to alter my life to not include my only hobby/way of life and staying healthy as much as I want.

Love the question. I'm on my second wife, and do not want to go through that again. So I would change my schedual. I know my wife would never ask this of me because my workouts are done early in the morning before anyone else gets up, just so they don't affect our life. If I had to though, I would drop all weight training, and go with body weight/cardio training. That means I'd do push-ups/pull-ups, burpees, planks, ect. I think that would get me the most effective workout in the short amount of time. Now the question never says I can't start parking as far away as possible to get in a few quick walking session everytime I go to the store, so I would be looking for chances like that as well.

Wow, I say its time to end that relationship! I would have to say
Monday: squats, deadlifts, bench press, barbell curls, weighted dips, wide grip pullups, clave raises and some weighted ab exercise. All 6 sets until failure, and heavy!
Thursday: same as Monday!

Ugh, I get the shivers just thinking about this question. The thing about it is, for me, I'm never going to be on board with drastically cutting back on something that makes me happy and gives me some purpose on a daily basis. But then again, would I rather lose out on someone who actually means something to me over going to the gym? The answer is no, so for this awful sceanrio, I'd cut things back to two days per week. If I was just starting to date someone, I might not have the same stance as I do being a married man. My wife puts up with a lot of my meathead crap and for that, I've very fortunate. It definitely wouldn't be worth losing her over going to the gym. Haha, very romantic, I know!

That certainly sucks.
My wife worried about me when I first started dieting and working out on a regular basis(more so the dieting as I used to eat everything in sight before dieting).
She understands more now and even tries to find new ways to keep my diet more palletable. She gets me to try new foods to stop my diet from being boring and I can't ask any more of her.
My wife even says she will buy me a bar fridge and Tupperware for my birthday so I can prep my meals for the week.Goldlist User

Nice scenerio TPaynter...
I'm a married guy with kid so IMO if I only have 2 days to train each week (after a long debate). I will train 2 days a week! I will not leave my family or have them leave me. Family/love ones first over this lifestyle. But with my training it will be super intense, as in the main core lifts only bench, squat, deadlifts, overhead press and pullups. I would do a circuit training or Crossfit style twice a week or even partition the training to one upper day, and one lower day. I would also throw in some form of burpees and kettlebell swings in that circuit to get the weightlifting and cardio factor in just 2 training sessions per week.CONQUERING BARBELL

I don't have kids or a wife so I can't speak on that, if I did I would put them first of course though. As far as a girlfriend I would probably end up ending the relationship if it came down to it. Iv had to pass on potential relationships, friendships and activities. Not always a good thing.
