    75 LB dumb bell Press

At 6' 0'', and 145lbs, is 75 lb dumb bell press (6-8 reps) good?

Also, I mean 75 lb in each hand.

Only good relative to your progression.

If you started at 60lbs and you're only at 75, but another guy started off 40 and he's at 75, guess who got stronger?

at 145lbs thats ok, but for your height you should be a lot heavier, got much muscle to pack on, i suggest going for a 12-15 range more often than the 6-8, ull grow faster, strength may not go up as fast as u would like it, but once u add more weight ull be able to add strength quicker

I've been lifting for 6 months and started at 45lb and 135lb bodyweight.

    Also deadlift is at 250 x 5.

At those stats, I'd be aiming to add about 3-5 lbs per month to your bodyweight (and the weights lifted increasing too). Keep at it.

    Let me ask you this.

Is your goal to lift more weight or build more muscle?

Weight is irrelevant, proper form and feeling the muscle work is more important.

Like mentioned above if your seeing progress then yes it's good, if you started at 80's or hav been stuck at 75's for a while we have a problem.
I saw a woman wearing a sweatshirt with Guess on it. I said, Thyroid problem?

Alright, thanks for the advice. At my rate i'm getting like 2 lbs per month - however, I read somewhere that maximum amount of lean muscle able to be added during a year for a beginner is like 25-30 lbs which work out to roughly like 2 lb a month, so am is my slow bulk efficient?

Yeah, I just got to 75s (about a week ago). How long until I should be able to get to the 80s would you estimate? I'm thinking like 4-8 weeks?

If you are referring to overhead press, that is extremely good. Generally 'press' by itself implies overhead press, not bench press.

I would say that 75 lbs is a decent pressing weight (in each hand) for 6-8 reps for many people, but it is in total just above your body-weight, which relative to your body-weight is very very good.

I am assuming that you are talking about dumbbell shoulder press in this thread.

Good and bad are subjective words. Numbers only have an impact in lifting when you get into strength sports like powerlifting and olympic lifting and even then, those are just numbers, they don't tell your story.

If a bloke just recovered from a terrible car accident, did physical therapy for a year and just got back in the gym, and went to be a powerlifting meet and put up 500 lb total. I'd be more impressed by him then the elites totaling over 1500.

focus more on progress, everyone is gonna handle different amounts of weight differently. i know alot of real small guys who can put up a ton of weight, and alot of real big guys who cant pick up the pringles can. Its hard to compare say my lifting weight to yours bc of how our muscles will react, for only lifting for 6 months yes i think that is good but remember focus more on what will give you the best results not being the strongest guy in the gym.
