    squating

Ok, im a freshman in high school
    Height-6'2"
    Weight-174 lbs
right now i can squat 240 lbs for 1 rep max.
By the start of my sophomore year, id like to be squating about 300-320 lbs.
Do you guys think its possible? And what reps/sets should i be doing to make the best gains possible?

    hi

for pure strength increase your looking at really low reps ,and not training to muscle exhaustion like when your training for hypertrophy

so rep range anywhere from 1-5 reps for pure strength increase and sets i'd say you could nearly base your session on squats .
    but remember quality not quantity

main thing for increases in your squat is frequency, so do your squats like 2-3 times a week, with plenty of recovery between sessions, if you have leg doms i wouldnt try heavy squats because that can push down your max,and the quality of your lift

and yeah i'd say anything is possible if you stick with it, and your diet and training is right

    hope that helps

I do legs twice a week, power cleans, weighted lunges, leg curls and extensions on Tuesday, and then leg press, squats, and lateral squats on Friday. I have seen huge gains in both my leg size and strength doing my program. For squats I do sets of 10, 8, 8, 6, 4 at the same weight, then bump up the weight the following week when I can get all the reps of each set.

    Maxs:
Barbell Bench Press - 295 lbs
    Squat - 455 lbs
    Deadlift - 425 lbs
    Hang Clean - 270 lbs

What the guys above said, but also after squats hit your legs really hard on the leg press. Especially with a slow tempo
