Anyone wanna come with me and Corp Por some bitches?! There's a new free to play Ultima online server that came out last friday and some of you guys might be interested in playing it. For those that don't know the game is full loot, full pvp, massive open world, crafting system etc.
The server is set in the UOR era so approx 2000-2001 rules (no trammel or anything like that).

How are the skill progressions? I don't want to grind 8 hours a day for 4 weeks just to be able to actually play the game and dungeon crawl/pk. Need at least a +25-50% rate. The worst part of UO was creating a new character and chopping wood, mining, playing harp for ****ing 3 days straight to build decent stats.

Combat skills are fast so you don't need to grind or macro, just play the game and you'll have a good char in a few days or a week tops. There's a 25% skill gain bonus when you're hitting NPC's and a 45% skill gain bonus when you're in dungeons so if you just dungeon crawl you're gonna advance your char fast. Your stats get to 225 within an hour or so. My guy is already 100 swords, 100 anatomy, 100 tactics then like 75 healing 60 magery, 60 resist, he's comin along nicely.
Crafting skills are a bit harder to raise though so not everyone has their own pocket crafters and there's a player economy.

The end brought a tear to my eye. Dammit, why does UO do this to me. There is something about that game that has just always set so deeply. I compare every MMO to it and nothing ever comes even close. Gonna do some research on the shard, I play UO: Second Age which is a solid, solid shard but it is T2A accurate. I preferred UOR to be honest.... fffffffffff my life going to deteriorate again if this server is legit.
UO reps till I'm out.
Probably gonna run a lumberjack dexer first to generate the gp's then start a scribe or nox mage for pvp.. oh lawds it's starting...

This. I am going to start farming with my dexxer to help fund a provo/mage and start raking in mad cash. Fuark dude I am running through all the combos I want to build again. I played UOgamers: hybrid for forever and had a pretty solid nox/scribe mage that decimated. What is your name in game? My lumberjacker is Vortex. I am in Brit right now just grinding.
Here is my build:
Swords
Anatomy
Tactics
Lumberjacking
Healing
Alchemy
Magery (62.5)
Resist (37.5)
That combo mitigates a enough magic damage plus offers me a 100% cast chance of a gheal so I can survive almost any dump. Use alchy for explo pots and ljack+swords combo is brutal as all hell.

Bumping this.
Met a miscer last night while grinding at the Brit graveyard. GM'd swords and almost GM tactics now. Farming fire/air ele's in shame to bring up dat cash flow. Working on a blacksmith/tailor as well for BOD's. I am damned addicted again....
We need to make a misc guild once we can all put up enough for a large enough house... maybe an 18x18

haha I thought so! Just hit 90 healing, god that took forever! GM swords/tactics and close to gm lumberjacking. Gonna have to start cranking out kegs soon so I can start making pots for alchy. Been focusing a lot on my smith/tailor today trying to get him up to par.
The server is awesome so far, tons of people which really shocks me. Feels like the old days... so much nostalgia.

I just started a provo so I can start farming heavy hitters. I have been macroing for well over 2 hours and not even .1 gain... wtf? Anyone have any success with macroing it? I am trying to figure out if they made it to where you will only gain outside of guards or in dungeons or something to prevent people from just macroing a good farming char... would make sense.

Looks like it's averaging 300-400, not sure what it peaks at. The server just went public a few days ago so I was impressed, it feels very full and there are a lot of people. They have that helpful attitude as well, so that is nice while it lasts lol.
BTW, I am working on my blacksmith so any miscers need gear let me know. His name is Glass Joe and is usually around Brit grinding smithing.

The good thing about this shard is they have increased skill gains on all your basic stuff so you can get started really fast and start playing. Now taming, provo, magery, and craft skills are still slow to gain but it helps balance everything out. If you want a badass tamer, you gotta invest in it. Get on and pm me your name. I will hook you up with some stuff.
