found a nice apartment in Staten Island about 5 minutes from my college campus. I have always thought about moving out for college but, at first it seemed dumb because my house Is about 15-20 minutes away from my campus. now the more I think about it the more sense it makes to me. any thoughts on this? am I just wasting money or is this a good idea to get the experience of moving out while I'm still in college

It's not impossible to find 1k in staten island but it's probably a dump. You can find 1k in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx as well....

College will likely charge you more than that for a dorm so might as well do it
