You're not dating, you're married.
If your wife doesn't trust you by now, and if your wife doesn't want you to have a good time, (like an all inclusive cruise) then you shouldn't have married her in the first place.
As long as you stay faithful, there's no reason for her to be pissed off besides a little jealousy of wanting to be on the cruise aswel.
Go on it OP, you'll regret it if you don't.
And if your wife makes a big deal out of it, she'll make a big deal out of you getting groceries on your own where there's a female cashier around.
So either way, if she's crazy, you lose in the end (or win, depends on how you view it)

Motivated.
If you going on this cruise for FREE pisses off your wife... she's a kunt. You know she'd be ALL OVER THIS if she had a female friend who invited her.

Go, but make sure you have your kids taken care of first. I'm not married, but the only way I could see your wife opposing the idea is if she's jealous or bitter and I'd hope you weren't foolish enough to marry someone that is like that.

So you want to leave your wife and kids at home and go on vacation with another man? That just doesn't sound right brah. How would you feel if she wanted to leave you at home with the kids and go away?
You also said you couldn't afford a cruise, what about saving up for a while? Putting a little money aside every month and then going. Some people book cruises a year in advance and give themselves enough time to pay for it. Also, you can lower the price of a cruise if you....get an inside cabin, go on an older ship, cruise during off-peak season, etc.
Oh btw, stop acting like it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. There are thousands of cruises each year, hundreds of ships and thousands of destinations. Stop acting like you won't ever get to experience this in the future and your life will forever be impacted if you don't go.

I did exactly this last year for our 10yr anniversery. It's really something that I wouldn't save up for again though, it's the fact that it's a free trip. Having 3 kids I have loads of other things to spend money on.

Tell your wife that you got the chance to go on the cruise so you're taking it. Do NOT present it as a question.
If possible and economically feasible, find a way to buy her a ticket too. Then find someone to watch the kids for a week and you're good.

bro your wife can deal with it. you said yourself, you couldn't afford to do this on your own. yet you have this opportunity now, and a friend nice enough to invite you over all the people he konws.
I say go for it, 100%. Although, perhaps taht's why I'm not married. I tend to have that mentality. So if you think it'll ruin your marraige, i guess don't go. I aint married so I'd go obviously haha

I am no "white knight" but you are married and you want to go on a cruise, while your wife stays home with the kid? Good luck with your divorce attorney goals of 2013.

Well then it all comes down to what type of relationship you have with your wife and how young your kids are. If they are able to get themselves ready in the morning and not put a lot of pressure on your wife, then I'm sure she will consider letting you go. If not then she will immediately start talking about her having to deal with all the work she will have to do. Like others have said above, can't hurt to mention it to her.

lol you have to ask her permission

Don't ask her, tell her you are going and say with your friend. Buy her something nice first like a gift and explain how much you want to go. If she says no, just say **** it and go because you atleast tried to tell her.

Down, NOT out.
Going on a cruise like that for FREE is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It will be a nice vacation for you and you always learn something about the world when you travel. If your wife is going to be so selfish as to keep you from going then that's just fuked up IMO.

Wouldn't do it. A 7 day cruise isn't worht a liftetime of marital distrust/problems.
ALso you're putting the kids on her shoulders. Da fuq is ur problem boy?
Edit: Also LOL at everyone above saying that if OP's wife doesn't go, she's jsut being selfish and jealous. OP, in my opinion, is being inconsiderate to his wife by kicking it easy and going on a vacation — leaving her in the cold north american snow.

thanks, yeah going to speak with my parents. THey live nearby and should be able to help with the kids should she need it. The kids aren't going to be a burden on her or anything like that. I'll also be taking the family to the beach for our yearly vacation in july.

If you go on a seven day cruise leaving your wife to take care of the kids at home then you are a scumbag OP. Responsibilities. Ever heard of them?
Alternatively you are not a scumbag if you present it as a bro's trip and you would love to watch the kids while she goes on a girls trip in the near future.
Truth be told though part of being married is knowing you're going to have to give up opportunities like this occasionally.
