Lightbulb Body parts - how often??

I have been bodybuilding for 6 months now. I train each body part one a week eg Mon = back/biceps Tue Chest/Tri's Wed = off Thu = Shoulders Fri = Legs Sat = off Sun = Cardio.
Will training a muscle once a week be sufficiant enough for it to grow??

Training more often, for most muscles, would lead to less growth. As long as you're training them hard, once a weeks is usually optimal.

    I agree...once a week is fine.

Once a week is sufficient, yes.

Is it optimal? I tend to think not, based on the literature, real-world experience, and personal preference.

Though but one example of a higher-frequency training approach, you may find some of the articles/information at this site of interest.

Once a week is a great choice. If you look at any professional competitor's training split, they usually only work each part once a week...... I find it allows me to hit the muscle hard enough. My legs will often take 4 days to recover after a hard session!

    Tkarrde,
Maybe many could work the muscles every 5 or 6 days and get better results. But it's definitely easier to schedule things on a weekly basis, and there's less risk of overtraining and injury.
