Posting a few times does not mean I am "back". I continue to enjoy the rest of the BB.com forums and I read the Rant because I enjoy it.

I don't enjoy the insults, so I responded to those, and now those people are on ignore.

This will be my last post on this subject. I will continue to read the Rant.

Anyone who drives a 2012 Impala..uh..I got some questions. /rentals

I have to drive to work in this thing possibly. I don't wanna. It's like a go kart with more grip. Smooth ride, but it just doesn't feel right. Too low to the ground despite excellent pick-up. Doesn't help that a windstorm is going on now. I can wait it out.

I start a new full time job tomorrow as a web/database developer. Papa skiz's cancer is 90% gone, one uncle's back from deployment (he's got one more round and he'll retire again), and I'm finally upgrading from a 1990 Dodge Caravan soon.

I like driving the Impala, my experience with them being contained to the recent years' models. I agree with the way it handles. I think the pick-up on it is rather comfortable for a mid-size sedan, but the engine works a little too hard for how it accelerates still. I feel that this is just the way the car was designed. I remember at the start of the movie Drive, where the boss of the main character says something about how it is the most common car in California or Southern California, which suggest a combination of factors being that consumer appeal accounts for its prevalence, and that peoples preferences in cars aren't respectable.

For that matter, I suggest driving conservatively with respect to the RPMs when coming on to a hill. My particular rule of thumb has always been to not let the tachometer go past 3 1/3 to 3 1/2, especially for extended periods of time, but I digress a little.. Playing with the traction control always seems to help in situations like this also.
