Homemade Fudge Brownie Peanut Butter Protein Bars

    Ingredients
1 cup Fudge Brownie Dyamtize Protein
    1/2 cup of Peanut Butter
    1/2 cup of Coconut Flour
    1/2 cup of Almond Milk
30 grams melted 85% Dark Chocolate
Dash of Cinnamon (Really makes the bar)

    Directions:
    1. Mix raw ingredients in to a
    2. Melt peanut butter enough so that you can pour it on, and mixes easily with the rest of the batter.
    3. Knead and compress the ingredients so that they are firm enough to shape by hand.
    4. Create small or large bar shapes out of the batter.
    5. Melt chocolate in a pan over the stove.
    6. Pour the chocolate over the protein bars, or dip in chocolate.
    7. Put the protein bars in the fridge overnight.
    8. EAT.

    Rough Nutrition Facts:
    Servings: 5
    Serving Size: 1 Bar

    Calories: 266
    Protein: 24g
Fat: 15g (3/4 of them are healthy fats coming from peanut butter)
    Carbs: 14

    Notes:
Now, keep in mind, If you want to drizzle the chocolate instead, or not use it at all that's also an option. I would suggest using these immediately post work out if you're going to cover them in chocolate like I did. I plan to just eat them on my way home from the gym while I'm waiting to make my Cinnamon Fudge Brownie Peanut Butter and Oatmeal protein shake (which I'll come up with a name for soon.)

Higher insulin levels after workout would mean that the simply carbs/sugars in the chocolate could be metabolized easier. 6g isn't much though so I doubt it'll make a difference.

Like I said, based on my parameters the carb amount is too low to make a difference. Therefore, just eat it whenever you want.

Training increases insulin levels. Insulin is required to properly metabolize simple carbohydrates in the blood (blood sugar). This way you metabolize it properly without any extra strain on the body. Consistent eating of simple carbohydrates without exercise before can lead to heart disease and/or diabetes.

It'd have to be really high amount of carbs and you'd have to do it often though.

EDIT: I suppose in theory complex carbs can potentially have this effect, but it won't get into the bloodstream quickly enough. I think it comes down to spiking blood sugar without the insulin already being there.

Yeah, theoretically, something like dextrose would be a lot better.... (That's why some people say that pixy stix are good after workouts) because it gets directly in to the bloodsstream...
However, some people claim that dark chocolate has great health benefits in low amounts... so if you can deal with the carbs that come from it (which isnt much) it actually is a great post workout snack (not meal)
