I like the nostalgic pieces, ones that tell a story, would like to have something like this:
or this "campaign chest"
Both are from www.russellsformen.com, they have some cool wildlife/historical art as well. The ability to overcome hopelessness and despair will determine your success. Pain is not your biggest battle. - Killing Lions

On night shift trying stay awake, went from page one to here. Lots of cool ideas but this is not one of them......if they were the real deal sure....its all knock-off imitation replicas.
Take the time...antique stores, craigslist, yard/garage sales.....find genuine cool things. Reminds me of pottery barn from Friends episode. This is if you want your idea of story time not the LOL fake stuff you have no story, sorry dude.Have goodnight.

You can't go into those saying they are the genuine, you have to disclose it with an appreciation of the stories they told. To find actual pieces can be worthwhile, but very expensive and sometimes very hard to come by. I look at these like I would a model airplane, or a model supercar. It's for the appreciation, clearly not the real thing (only attainable at the time).
Agreed they are indeed replicas, the real deal would be much more meaningful and impressive. But make no mistake, I have several pieces from antique stores and flea markets, and few that I have hand crafted. Can post if I feel it necessary. The ability to overcome hopelessness and despair will determine your success. Pain is not your biggest battle. - Killing Lions

Went to Ikea over the weekend and saw the Poang chairs. My god are they comfortable. Definitely going to get at least a couple once I finally move. They look alright, nothing to fancy, but damn are they comfortable. And for <$100 they're a damn steal.
I'm pretty sure, at the very least, I'll be getting 2 for the patio. I'll sand the frames and paint to seal them for outdoor use and have a friend make some waterproof covers. Boom.Last edited by cajone5; 10-22-2014 at 09:42 AM.

I finally made it.

Any of you brahs have experience with canvas prints and where to go to find a wide selection or where to make custom ones? The print I want is of the iconic photo of soldiers approaching Omaha Beach on D-Day.
I found the print available here, but for the size I want it's rather pricy. I'm unaware if all canvas prints in the larger sizes are the same rate or if this place has them marked high.
I'm looking at the 30" and up sizes.

Got a Poang a few weeks ago. It does have a patio look but I think the leather looks slightly less patio than the burlap type ones. Matching ottoman was going to be $90 so I got a different one on Amazon for $68 which can double as an extra seat.
