Yes. In fact I did it subconciously for years! For some reason I find it really comfortable! Had to make a conscious effort to stop so I didn't look like a freak in public lol

No, I have also have never been able to do it in yoga. Actually there are a number of yoga poses that I am unable to do, I have decided that this is because of my legs as well. Anyway, I have a friend who crosses her legs like this all the time, I hate it. It creeps me out so bad.
