hi everyone
i read a lot about how much you should eat and the most common quantity of protein is 1gram/pound of lean body mass
but i still think this is a lot
why ? here is some evidence :
1- because if someoe have good genetics and follow a great diet plan and aggressive bodybuilding program
he will still not gaining more than one pound every week
one pound = 450 gram and by the way muscle isn't 100% protein
divide 450 on 7 days equal = about 65 gram ( this is maximum protein intake )
so if you eat 0.8 gram per kilogram (which is the daily in take when not lifting weights) + 65 gram you will gain pound of muscle (it's not far from 1gram/pound but it still less see the evidence 2 )
2- in the first evidence i calculate protein intake a lot more than i supposed to because i read a lot that one pound muscle is not 450 gram protein it is between 90 to 150 protein so to gain one pound muscle every week (maximum gain natturaly) you will need to take the daily in take + 13 to 21 gram protein now thats a big difference
and there is aminou acids in blood plasma so when not eating for a long time if it affect muscle it will not affect it a lot if if if if if only if it affect muscle
now pls i need comments on this
there is a lot of bodybuilders like Kris Gethin say that they loss fat and gain a lot of muscle at the same time
so why do you need to eat a lot to gain muscle
for energy ? your body can use fat for energy why not ? and there is a lot of glycogen in the liver

Gaining muscle (unless you are new to lifting) requires more calories in than you are burning throughout the day. Otherwise, if you are in a deficit, where will the building blocks come from?
You can't build a house without supplies, and you can't build muscle unless you have the extra calories to do so. Losing BF& during a bulk is possible due to gaining more muscle proportionately than fat, but losing fat (once again unless you are a brand new lifter or coming back to it after a long break.) is not possible.Always learning, Always growing, Never satisfied

first
i know that 1g protein =/= 1g muscle
but i was saying that even if it was like that it won't never reach 1g/pound rate
0.8g/kg is recomenden for all your body need when not exercising
and 1 pound muscle contain 150 gram protein
so just divide 150 / 7 = 21.4
so to get what your body need take 0.8g/kg and to get what your muscles need to grow add 21.4 gram protein to 0.8g/kg rate and this is it
second
kris gethin has loss fat and gain muscle at the same time how do you explain that ?

What exactly are you trying to accomplish with this thread? An argument? If not, read the countless scientific articles that have been published. Want to know more? Go to school, then go to higher education... You're not going to debunk anything with your "math". Eat in a surplus, lift heavy, get big. /thread.
