Anybody tried this? Does it take a while to kick in and you get a better effect over time or is it a herb that you take and you feel the effects for the day you take it? How well does it work also. reps for answers

Takes a couple days to kick in but it is awesome when it does, get NOWs Maca dose it at about 6-8 caps per day.

You have to dose it high if you are taking it in pill/powder form....at least 2-3 grams per day for it to be truly effective.

The thing with Maca is, it is one of those supplements where top-quality is of immense importance. I'm not a believer in the NOW Maca, some people have had good results with it, but if you want to experience the true effect of Maca, you need to go out and get the good stuff, there's lots of different companies that make top quality Maca, but it will probably cost you a bit more than the NOW stuff, which might suffice for some people, but personally, I've found the energy effects of Maca to be outstanding, assuming you have a good quality extract, or, you can even get the actual Maca root itself, just munch on it

That is a pretty low dose. I would suggest at least 5g a day.
Another fellow who posted in a past thread about it said that 15g is a minimum dosage. I think it would be a bit too costly at that point. Shouldnt be a problem taking so much though since it is basically a food product.

This is where quality becomes important. If you use a pretty good Maca supplement, you should be able to get most of the benefits at a dose of 2 grams a day, its only the lesser quality supplements that I've heard people having to dose at a ridiculous amount.

I use Maca Magic and I've never needed more than 1.5 grams to 2 grams daily to get the great endurance/energy boosting/mental and other effects of this outstanding supplement.

I wonder what would happen if you took 15 g then. Most likely your gf would be walking funny for a few days. One of the best things about this supp is that its so rich in micronutrients and what not.

well based on animal studies, there really are no side-effects to Maca. Now, I always apply the concept that "more is not always better", so I've always used a moderate dose of Maca, which is a wonderful adaptogen, but I suppose someone could use a really high dose and they would be just fine. The same animal studies have only shown increased physical vitality and sexual energy/impulse when taking increasingly larger doses of Maca. I'm satisfied with the results I've been getting at 1.5g a day, and 15g a day of Maca Magic would be insane, especially on the wallet

Try going with 4 a day, for me, it took about a week before I noticed any real effects from Maca, after that, the effects only increase.

You know what, I once ordered bulk Maca from another site.....worst decision ever, that stuff tasted horrible. When I tried actual Maca when I was in Ecuador, it was actually pretty good tasting overall, slightly bitter, but nothing like the stuff that was sent to me from the, shall-remain un-named bulk distributor

I've never had the Maca Magic, I just started looking into since Mariachi mentioned it. But it looks high quality and is a better deal than what I am getting now. Ill try them next.
