Not many people in the UK have guns. You feel "equal" to a person who is robbing your house for example because the likelyhood of them having a gun is low. In America people have guns, so you need guns in your house to protect yourself and to feel equal.

you can get a fire arm in uk within a few phone calls its not that hard, but if you use one in self defense you are going to jail, that been said if you defend yourself with any weapon you are going to jail so use a gun, knife, tire iron, crowbar etc your not entirely defenseless

Edit, they still have gun shops in uk, not many but you need all sorts of licencing etc, mainly used for pheasant shooting or gun ranges

Absolutely not to that part in bold. I've lived in London my whole life and I'm glad that the chances of someone pulling a gun on me is virtually zero. I'm just glad there are very few guns in this country, it makes me feel safer to be honest, and I don't understand why Americans wouldn't want to feel the same way.

This is my favorite argument from Americans about gun laws. We don't need guns to defend ourselves because NOBODY has guns. Your police NEED guns because the other guy might have a gun.
