Contemplating a bulk. Please weigh in on your opinion.
Hello all,
I am new on here. I have been a moderate lifting and avid running kick for the last year (with the last couple months a bit more lifting and maintained running). I am now contemplating a bulk phase (not exactly even sure what all that entails?). I want to gain some muscle mass and be pretty ripped for the summer. I don't want to fully give up cardio either. What would you recommend? The only reason I have reservations about 'bulking' is that I don't want to get fat, to be frank. Any information and suggestions are appreciated
Here are two pictures of my current condition. The one with the glasses is from about 3 weeks ago and the other is from yesterday.
Thanks!
Charlie

No homo you look great already. Bulk phase usually comes with some extra fat but you could bulk for a few months then cut for a month since you're in pretty good shape.
Pretty sure bulking you could eat up to 500 cal above maintainence and work out hard. Make sure you get your body weight in protein if not a bit more.
Best of luck. I'm hoping by summer time I look near how you are now lol.
lol, jokes aside, I think you should lean bulk, 2 pounds a month.
Physique looks good to add some Lean mass, man. GJ
Would you mind elaborating on a 'lean bulk'? Like I said, I am a runner that is uneducated in lifting strategies and such.
Thanks for the kind words btw.

Lean bulk is gaining no more than 2lbs of weight per month... so .5 lbs per month. Focus on progressing on your lifts so you can add lean body mass as well..

Fixed for ya. I'd also recommend this, obviously it entails figuring out how many cals to eat so that your gains (paired with weightlifting of course) typically don't exceed much more than .5-1lb a week.
ya do a lean bulk and cut every so often for a couple weeks as needed to stay lean if you feel you overbulked a bit. this is what I do and you can actually get leaner doing it.
