Hey i was just wondering if i continue with bodybuilding is it possible for me to get bigger than someone who is both taller than me and bigger boned/framed? wider shoulders, etc.
I know i can build more muscle but will i
look noticeably bigger with clothes on?
and im talking about a big boned guy that doesnt bodybuild, just an average big guy.
and my second question is. Is it possible to be heavier than someone but not bigger? Ive got a friend who is smaller than me in size but when we step on the scale he is almost 10 pounds heavier than me, yet in the mirror i am considerably bigger, and hes not really muscular or fat either.
thank you guys

Of course. It is about relative density. I'm heavier than some of my less skinny non-exercising work colleagues. Load bearing exercise increases bone density as well as musculature, it is all LBM.
I remember reading an article about what you can expect as your maximum muscular potential and it seems some people are blessed with long muscle bellies, while others can have much shorter ones with longer tendons. This will affect the amount of "filling out" that one can do regardless of overall physical stature. Most successful bodybuilders seem to be on the long muscle belly side of the equation. Ah, found the reference, it is from Casey Butt's Ebook: Your Maximum Muscular Potential.
