I am considering getting my personal trainer certification with the intention of working in Canada. Around here, everyone seems to talk about Canfitpro and many gyms require it before hiring you. On the other hand, ISSA seems like a more complete course, but if so many gyms in Canada don't recognize it, what's the point? Of course, I might be misinterpreting things. So I have two questions here. First, what's involved in each course? Is it 100% correspondance or is there some classroom time? Secondly, which would you recommend considering that I'll be working in Canada? I should also mention that way back in 1996, I got my certification through ISSA. I worked for a while in the field, but after I changed careers, I never renewed it. I would like to work part time as a trainer as opposed to full time like before.

Hey there, I work for canfitpro - the canfitpro certification course is a great introductory course. The knowledge does not stop after the certification! You are required to get 4 cecs per year to keep that knowledge going and keep up with industry trends. As a personal trainer, the more effort you put into the knowledge, the more successful you'll be!!!!
WATER WATER WATER...
If you can dream it, you can achieve it!!!
