    What to expect on CarbNite

I usually have not paid much attention to my diet or what I ram in my hole, but I had an injury and I took advantage of the holidays... Any ways I decided I would like to lose some fat while maintaining as much strength as possible. So I did some research among the powerlifting sites I frequent and the diet that kept getting thrown out there was CarbNite. Now I ordered this hard copy and a low carb recipe book Sunday. I did not receive this yet, but the low/no carb has me a little worried. I recently stopped drinking caffiene and I am worried about my energy levels. I work 2nd shift so my training is done around 2 a.m., is there anything I can add into my diet to keep my energy levels up that are carb nite friendly. The book may have suggestions, but like I said I dont have it yet and I am trying to get ready for this diet, because it is my first time dieting and I am worried about failing.

Well, I've not tried it as written, but I'm having a difficult time reconciling some of the claims people make about it with the body of hard evidence (studies) about the effect of nutrient timing.

There is some evidence suggesting a benefit to shifting carbs closer to your workout for better calorie partitioning, but it's not a whole lot different than the ideas around leangains and intermittent fasting.

In any case, the whole thing hinges on manipulating carbs to improve insulin sensitivity, just like in Martin's IF protocol. To your point about energy levels, improved insulin sensitivity will go a long ways towards improving your perceived energy levels, especially if your own insulin sensitivity is poor at the moment. Whether CarbNite really improves insulin sensitivity to a noticeable degree though is the big question.

By the way, CarbNite is the old version of it, Carb Backloading is the revised version (I think).

    CarbNite is a re-feed once every 7 -10 days.

Carb Backloading is a refeed of carbs right after workout if you workout after 4:00pm (preferably). If you workout in the morning you backload the night before.

Carbnight will have you sweating bullets because it jacks your adrenal glands and metabolism.

Using Carbnight has helped me lose 32 pounds so far.
