28 minutes of intervals this morning!
I always get odd looks from my coworkers when I microwave broccoli at 8:30 in the morning.

This was my first work day of the week and I am feeling all smug that not only did I pack lunch and snacks so I wouldn't just buy carby crap, I also got my azz out of bed early enough to cook and eat breakfast so I'd be sure to get all my protein in. Can I just say, scrambled eggs are disgusting at 5:30 am. However I ate them and I've had blueberries, carrots, and an orange today. And only one quest bar. So much better nutritionally than a typical work day. Now I'm on the train going from work to the gym and since I rarely have been able to force myself to go after a 10 hour shift and a miserable commute, i'm calling that a win too. How'd all y'all do today? Everyone have a good day?

I ran 7.2 miles this morning before work.
I am tired. I ate nothing yet and so far bodymedia says I've burned 3172. If someone doesn't serve me food I'm probably not gonna eat---too spent. My daughter's already fed and the 19 year old is on his own tonightSheriff John Brown always hated me

Damn Ejnar... you'll be in a good place at the end of this contest. You're right around 2400 calories, right? Are you looking to lose around 15-20 for the contest? I'm assuming that is about a 600-700 calorie deficit? Will you be adding any cardio?
Here are my first two days of counting.
Monday
Calories 1980 Fats 77.5 Carbs 181 Protein 127
Tuesday
Calories 2145 Fats 81 Carbs 172 Protein 165
Monday was a bit low on calories and protein, but yesterday was much better. Today, calories/protein look to be right on the mark as well (high in fat today). I am going with a basic IF setup. The majority of my calories (~1600) are eaten in a single meal at the end of the day.

Hey everyone, just checking in! The first few days have gone well, stuck to plan 100% and feeling good. Ordered a new protein powder yesterday, hopefully it will be here before the weekend. Anyone tried Optimum Nutrition Caramel Toffee? I was getting sick of my Balance Cookies and Creme (although its delicious) - might have a couple of flavours on the go at once. Oh nom nom nom

deadlifts today. then hung out with an old friend who drove up from marfa.
guys, i was an insomniac ranty fool last night, and after i slept (which was very little and fitful) i woke up and didn't have an issue sticking to the diet. even with going out with my friend. i picked at a dry fajita salad, and he had a cactus and pepper margarita, and chili relleno with rice and beans. not once tempted.

Can't wait for these pictures to be a faint memory. What this experience has taught me is to put Powerlifting on hold until I have my bodyfat under control. When I started StrongLifts I weighed 305. When I hit 1.5 bw squats (470lbs) a year later I weighed 312. I continued StrongLifts and competing. That is when the weight started piling on. The area on my back where is looks all white and no freckles. That is from squatting. Gives you an idea on how often I have squatted in the past.

Yep, target 15-20 pounds @ 2300 cals, 600 cals deficit, add steady state cardio on bike. Refeed set to minimal as I tend to have good compliance without, but will do conservatively. 15 pounds looks really likely, if things run well hopefully a little more.
Thanks for reviewing for me, and for the good place part too
Nice work MT, let me know how the caramel comes out. Sounds like a potential winner.
geek's got the game face on, stares down relleno, diet on cruise control.
Pics, a bump in the road though really. I've given up feeling uncomfortable posting mine. Awkward still, I can never seem to get things lined up right working alone. Hopefully I can get some decent help for the after.
I do really appreciate your help earlier this year reviewing my squatting HF.

Wednesday
(Got it! I'm such a geek - thanks acc)Calories 1650 Fats 62 Protein 125
Gym today: Pilate routine - 23 exercises (great for my hip)
Feeling DOMS from my Mon and Tues lifts and all I did was add an extra set for each exercise. Feel good thought! Something is working.
Deficit up to 150 cal. Seems ok. I was definitely not hungry today and I can see where I can cut a bit more in a couple of weeks.
All good!
Good luck on day 4 everyone!** Marie **

I ate. I crashed the minute I got my daughter to bed and woke up in the middle of the night starving.
I just worked a 10 shift yesterday after getting up at 5 for a 2 hour training and cardio session, and things that needed to

Hammerfelt, I'm kinda jealous of the squat bar mark on your back. I don't have anything that cool, just some deadlift bruises on my legs
Blown away by some of the fasting / low cal approaches here, I definitely don't have the fortitude for those approaches. More power to those who can though! Personally I'm doing 2100 cals, which should be about a 500 cal deficit for me, and adding in cardio for shts and giggles. I'm training for PL meet in April though, trying to retain every single bit of lean mass and add strength, or as much as possible anyway. My goal weight of 145 would drop me two weight classes from my last meet in August. We'll see how it goes!

I've always liked hitting it hard while motivation is high. Although last year I half assed it the first week. I mean, obviously I wouldn't be able to continue training with my only fuel source coming from the lard on my ass. But I can for now, so why not?
My usual daily burn is around 2600-3000 as well, according to bodymedia. I do cardio daily---either trail runs or treadmill intervals/sprints or even steady state treadmill runs if I have a smoking Jerry show to watch and listen to while I plod away. And my job is active.
I have become accustomed to eating so much ****ing food every day that I think this practice of restraint will serve me well in many aspects of my left other than fat loss. I need to do it. And I CAN do it. We all can do it.Sheriff John Brown always hated me

Brain on ketones > brain on glucose. Better clarity and focus. I am wide awake when I wake up, no caffeine needed. It is amazing how alive your body is when it is not dragged down by the food we stuff into it.
Full steam ahead!
Yesterday walked 1.98 miles then in the evening a whopping 7 minutes on the treadmill at the gym. 290 calories of lemonade consumed.
This morning on the scale - boom! 5 lbs lost in one day.

I kinda feel that way every time I start to develop a habit with food. I'm thinking of my sweet tooth that rears its dentures in the evening; spicy herbal tea with splenda seems to do the trick to satisfy the craving, but I should try to eliminate that habit altogether. Should probably just cut it all out like you're doing. Get it, girl!
Legs this morning. Also violated gym etiquette with unsolicited advice and told a girl I was really worried about her back while she was doing stiff-legged deadlifts. She looked like an upside-down J and was making me really nervous with that 85 lb barbell.
Calories for yesterday were a little low: 1580
Hope everyone's day is off to a lovely start!

Figured out a one mile track to walk in my back yard. Inner loop around the barns and water tank, or pond if you are up North, gets me the one mile. I video'd the walk and will try uploading it tonight. You would not think just holding a camera would make the walk harder, but it did. Only got one lap in, but that is okay. I did not plan on two laps until week two.
