For those with a Cut figure (vs the Hulks), what type of clothing do you wear when you are out in public? Do you go Charlie Sheen casual or do you wear something that accents your body shape?
I'm rather an ordinary middle aged looking guy who works at an office job, requiring me to wear a suit and tie. During the summer, on Fridays, we can dress down, but still requires a collar.
After work, I hit the gym so I change into my workout clothing, after which, I head home, then I take the dog for a walk in the local park.
Now, here's the deal, when I have my suit on, I look average...the only thing one could tell about my body is that I don't have a gut. At work, I pretty much don't get a second look if a pretty girl walks by. Now, that totally changes when I'm walking the dog in my shorts and T shirt. I consider myself to be fairly cut, so in my gym outfits, my body stands out.
Here's the dilemma. On Friday nights I usually go down to my local pub. It's mostly an older crowd, but the bar staff are in their mid 20s. There are a couple girls on staff that I'd love to ask out. Plus a couple customer ladies that I've seen there now and then. I notice that if I dress in a Charlie Sheen shirt and jeans, I don't get a second look. But if I dress is something that is tighter, I always get looks and the staff pays more attention to me. The thing is, I feel, well, like an egotistical prima donna if I dress like that.
So for those of you +40 guys who are more on the "cut" side, do you dress to accent your body and if you do, how do you do it with good taste? I don't want to be the creepy older guy in the speedo hanging out at the beach.

At the risk of contributing to what can only end up as a disastrous thread...
If you have a narrow waist, big chest and broad shoulders, then it should be obvious in a properly-tailored suit that you are in great shape. I suspect you're wearing suits that are too big and not tailored.
It might be too damn expensive, but a suit could be custom made to accentuate your shape. Celebrities who are in shape often wear suits where you can tell that they are in great shape. Same deal with the dress shirts. If you can take your suit jacket off during the day, get the shirts custom made. Expensive, but they'll last you forever (unless you outgrow them).

Your work is doing you a favour, you never dip your pen in the company ink well, it just ends in tears (mostly).
As for your going out clothes, adopt the attitude / self confidence that you look good in whatever you are wearing, then the clothes will only make a marginal difference. My journal http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=150040863

"The fitness and nutrition world is a breeding ground for obsessive-compulsive behavior. The irony is that many of the things people worry about have no impact on results either way, and therefore aren't worth an ounce of concern."--Alan Aragon

Does nobody new read threads before posing questions? Really? Wanna get noticed, grow 4" taller (gots the same problem by the way). If you gots a big noodle that never helps either. There are lots of shows about what people find attractive and it has a lot to do with things you cannot change. Time to learn to play in your own league, and be happy fella. The cards been dealt and no changin em. Being a colossal whiny douche never helps either if that is your problem. Women can smell that chit from miles away.

Nice jeans, either an Affliction or Tap Out shirt that is about one size too small and make sure you flare out your lats. Your elbows should never be within 6 inches of your body, keeping the back of your hands facing forward at all times helps with the look.
Though depending on the pub, a well groomed mullet and wife beater can do a world of good.
No time to post more, gotta go get my nails did.Now cutting: Got a little more squishy than I wanted, heading down to 160lbs and seeing how things look.

To be honest, as long as you don't look like a slob, I don't think girls really care that much about how cut you are. As a guy who's taken a lot of lumps learning how to meet women, I can say it has far more to do with your confidence, wit, and body english with the girl. There are definitely things to say, things not to say, and it's more trial and error than anything. Google Derek Rake.

Can you say "easy tip prey"? Not her... you. 20 yo waitress sees a 40ish guy looking interested in her. Yeah, I think you'll get special attention. Never confuse special attention from people who earn their living off you as personal interest. It will keep you from getting your heart broke over and over.
Oh yeah, and don't ask for advice on how to dress from total strangers. I'm pretty sure women are really interested in men who wear moose costumes with crocs.
