Replacing bench press with DB press

Hey folks so im starting out weight lifting for the first time and i was going to try babylovers workout I was wondering i'm going to be lifting by myself so i would rather not bench press (i will not have a spotter) so would it be alright to switch it with DB bench press? Should it matter as long as im still doing as much as i can 3*5?

    thank you for anyhelp

Benching is an entirely different beast than DB pressing. you can, but your reason not to isn't good enough, stop making excuses and bench.

Yeahm Db press is actually my favorite. You get a lot more stretch in your pecs
    Bench - 295

    Squat - 375

    Deadlift - 405

You can usually bench without a spotter.

And from my experience, as someone who's used to a barbell bench-press, recently started switching it up with dumbbells and it hits you a lot harder than a barbell if you're not used to it. You can defiantly get great aesthetic gains and your barbell benching will increase a good amount too, but I'd use a barbell as well.

They were probably using suicide grip and a spotter can almost never really do anything if the weight is too heavy.

flat bb benching, i believe, should be a staple workout for every routine you do. Its a big strength excersise more than stimulation... flat bb and incline db is the best combination hands down imo. just ask people to spot you, people at the gym are nice

I love DB bench. I had the same problem as you... I lift mainly alone, and I didnt want to worry about getting stuck under the weight. Get this, I only used DB's for several months, I saw alllllll kiiiindzzz of gains, and then one day out of the blue I went into the gym and couldnt push any kind of weight at all. So I switched back to BB press and vuola, problem solved. Now Im back to a 5x5 workout to focus on strength gains.

Change it up every week you dont need to stick to the same thing, just alternate between the two

imo, you shouldn't really need a spotter at the beginning of blss. just know your limits and don't try to bench something you know you can't get up.

    no excuses

Do both , alternate and confuse body n muscles
Do only what you can, with good form equals good improvements
Be careful with both and id suggest investing in harbingers training wrist wrap gloves for sure

Until you get to a heavy weight, It wont happen.

I just started out blss too, first time benching I had a guy show me the form and he was generous enough to stay back and watch me finish my reps, I managed to do all and I wasn't really after that, now I gradually increase weight.

id suggest a beginner starts with barbell bench..

you shouldnt be going to failure so you shouldnt need a spotter
