    need some deer advice

A friend got himself some deer and gave me 2. Now I am in the process of skinning and cutting it up. First one went fine. But on the second deer I noticed that one of the hind legs was fatter/larger than the other one. When I cut the leg to see the bone, it was twice the size.

Is this cause for alarm? I have no idea why one hind leg would appear to be bigger and have twice the bone mass compared to the other.

As long as there are no infections in the fesh I wouldn't worry about it. Likely the deer had been injured previously and this was the result of it.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^This, deer may have actually been hit by a car in the past and never really used it that much, the other leg compensated for the extra work.

This.......as long as there is no visible infection, abnormality to the meat or under the skin like puss ect you should be fine. Sounds more like a genetic abnormality to me.
