    Marketing that works?

    Hi there,

So i have my own facility to which i have started a group training program. I have a load of testimonials, pictures etc. To which i have put out a couple of banners and a load of leaflets, nothing.

********, is it worth paying for advertising on there?

Is there any types of marketing that has worked for you?

    Thanks

******** - tried it and got nothing out of it. I like the idea of how you can target audience - but the way I look at it is, when I'm on FB I take no notice whatsoever of the ads on the side.

Google adwords - again, I've tried this and my brother's company specialises in it. I have found it to be far too expensive for your sole trader personal trainer. Maybe use it as a short term marketing strategy to get some page 1 exposure, whilst you build your SEO organically.

Flyers - do not work. Especially in the UK where there is now a big uproar over junk mail.

Referrals - great if you can think up a systematic way to keep your referral system fresh in your clients minds. Just ensure you are giving the clients the best service you can give and you will get lucky with that one special client who seems to be friends with everyone. It may be word of mouth, offering free sessions for each new referral, clothing etc. etc.

Writing for local media - this is my goal this year. To write for the local paper.

Tweeting, FB and your own blog - Once this is in place it will be awesome. But will take some awesome planning, direction and skill to make your online presence an automated marketing system in itself.

Clothing - just getting out there with your clothing on that says 'Trainer'. Frequent local coffee shops etc.
