    Meal prep

So, I start Live Fit tomorrow and my fiance is doing Kris Gethins 12 week Trainer and we bought a TON of food today. I spent five hours making food and prepping our 5-6 meals a day for the each of us. At the end of it, I feel like I mad no progress and feel like I hardly made any food. We only have enough tupperware to prep our meals for two days in advance which is fine and the rest that I made is in other tupperware... But are there any tips or tricks that ya'll know that can make prepping easier or make me feel that there's more than what there is. Thanks.

    Have you tried storage bags?

I prep my meals a week in advance and I bought a ton of containers for each individual meal. The containers I bought were inexpensive ones from wal-mart.

I'll throw this out there...you don't NEED to eat 5-6 meals/day. You need to each be eating the food to meet your calorie and macro nutrient targets for the day regardless of how many meals this ends up being. Eating "X number of meals/day" should only apply as it fits your lifestyle(s). If it works better to prep and eat say 3-4 meals/day then do that.

On the 'prep tips' topic - I use storage bags or freeze food when I can; usually only putting food into tupperware when I'm packing up to leave for work in the AM. The bags are obviously easier to fit into the empty spaces in the fridge than a big tupperware container which is just bulky and awkward.

Thanks guys, I figured I'm going to cut them down to three meals a day with one mid afternoon snack and plenty of water.

I strongly advise against that, as that's a diet designed to sell supplements regardless of the harm to the consumer.

I put the majority of the food into gallon sized bags. Each night we portion out what we want for the next day into smaller containers. We generally cook twice a week OR just make huge dinners to allow for ample leftovers the next day.

Back to my original post...number of meals is irrelevant in comparison to what you're getting in each meal and overall during the day. Since I didn't post the link Pug took care of sharing the sticky (I knew it'd be Pug or IronWill lol) that you should start with.
If the macro and calorie calculations you get from that can conveniently be broken into 3 meals and a snack or something then awesome! The main thing is - don't focus on number of meals but rather the content and quality of your overall nutrition program.
