Single Malt scotch and higher end bourbons , yes I agree. Neat. I will smack someone if i see them putting ice in their Lagavulin 16 or Oban.

However, low end bourbons and mix batch scotch, I'll do an ice cube every so often. Black Label, Chivas 12, Jack Daniels..etc. Green Label and Blue Label are taken NEAT. Those actually have complex flavors in them that can get muted from ice.
