This may be dumb, but I've ran 531 before, and now ive been running sheiko. Its getting kinda old and im contemplating going with another routine however when I compare sheiko to other routines, it just seems the work load is ridiculously small compared to sheikos. Even though ive ran other routines before, now im kind of scared to go to another because the workload seems less. Has anyone had success switching from sheiko to other programs while still progressing their numbers? Thanks in advance.

Switching from sheiko to another routine, how can you make gains??
All this kid knows up till 21 is failure. So when he gets up and fails again and again he says f**k it, its just an average day I always fail. But soon he started failing better, stronger and smarter.

Yeah, I've gone from that to Madcow 5x5 because I didn't need Sheiko yet. From your question, it sounds like you might not either.
The real question is what's missing in your training that needs to be addressed?
Edit: Wow, I was right. Having read your other thread, you haven't even tested your maxes since starting Sheiko. Do that, see if you're happy with the results and if not, previous advice applies.Last edited by ridge_forrester; 01-30-2013 at 10:09 PM.

yes I was a bodybuilder, and I have a good base, I have a competition on the ninth which I stated, the reason I chose sheiko is because it was popular, and a heavy work load so I decided to try it out, the real question I was asking was has any went from such a high volume routine (squatting twice a workout, or benching twice a workout) and then going to a routine such as 531 which would be a drastic change in volume. No need to be sarcastic guys looking for some good info. My new maxes will be recorded as of my meet, and those numbers will be used for my next routine cycle.

5/3/1 is not necessarily a decrease in volume. It depends how you run it since 5/3/1 is adaptable. After your 5/3/1 on squat you could do more squatting as accessory work. You can also do squatting after your 5/3/1 deadlift session. Same with bench, you can throw in bench as an accessory exercise after 5/3/1 OHP. It is all about how you program for your body and your goals. I've benched 4x a week before and deadlifted 3x a week before. Right now I'm only benching 2x a week and deadlifting 1x a week and making gains even though my frequency has dropped.
