I'm currently going through the process of cutting. I want to know if the macros/deficit I am currently following are ok.
My stats are:
Age: 19
Weight:163lbs
height: 6 ft 1
I am fairly inactive at the moment other than my hour at the gym, 5 days a week. When I'm at college I'm probably as active as an average prson.
Basically I'm following MyFitnessPal macros and deficit it has given me. It says my Calorie needs are 2440, I should eat 1690 calories (750 deficit), although I probably eat around 1750 .
It says my carbs should be 232g (I eat 200g on average), 56g of fats and 63g of protein (I eat 100-120g a day). This is meant to burn 1.5lbs a week.
Would anyone more clued up on this agree that this is ok? I'm not sure if I'm on too big a deficit, or if my macros are correct.
Any help would be greatly appreciated - sorry for being a nuisance. Thanks!

No it's not ok, I suggest you forget that game plan and start over.

Post back with your TEE and your macro determinations. For cutting you will want to reduce calories 10-20% from TEE not an arbitrary number, and certainly not as steep as you have. Also your macro's are wrong, the link will explain everything to you. GL

Actually, No, Im cutting because I've got too much bodyfat (over 20%). I posted a thread in another section asking if I could bulk in a few weeks and I was told by more than one person I should get down to 15% bf before even thinking of bulking. If this is poor advice, let me know please.
On topic, thanks for all the advice provided, I will work out my macros and stuff manually using those formulas.

Well I'm not sure, when I use an online calculator it averages 22-24%. Unfortunately, I believe its true. At least 20%, surely it can't be wrong by over 4% . My mid section still has plenty of fat on it. I have a waist of 35.5 around the navel. Is this bf% with my stats near unheard off or something?

unless you have no muscle mass at all i dont see how you could be 20s.....even if thats the case cutting is only going to make you look smaller and sicker looking. Lean bulk put on muscle then cut when you have something to show

You're skinny-fat. There's a sticky on it. Basically, you need to start lifting weight properly and slow bulk to build up some muscle.

Sound. I'm lifting at the moment 5 days a week with a program I made, but I've been eating at a deficit for a while. Maybe now I'll start clean bulking then. Would it not benefit me to cut for a while longer - say 2-4 weeks? Will I not turn into an absoloute barrel if I start bulking now? or should I just start bulking as soon as?
Thanks for all the advice on here.
