So i'm finishing stronglifts on feb. 1st and wanted to try out ws4sb, i know stick to the one that has worked so far but I really need a change of pace. My only question is concerning my squat and deadlifts, in ws4sb will I ever be doing a normal squat? it seems to only be a variation, whether it be single leg, box squat, etc. Also for deads, you can only squat OR dead which is fine but there are no conventional deads? only trap bar or romanian.

don't get me wrong man I know the results are there. SL has always worked and it will continue to. I'm just looking fo a change of pace and wanted to try ws4sb out (which is also proven to work just as effectively) my only question is how the hell do i keep my squat and DL up when all it has me doing are variations?

that's like asking if i only train hammer curls for the next 6 months will my ez-curl bar curl go up... of course it will, you're working the muscle group, just hitting it from a different angle. you also then don't neglect parts of the muscle group and will activate others that wouldn't previously be activated, or at the very least not AS activated

weird goals man but I'm trying to lift as much as possible, but I would also like to add some muscle all around which is why I thought adding in ws4sb would help + i'm training for USMC boot camp in september so i figured ws4sb would give me some all around strength. (and yes I am training situps, cardio and abs on my off days)
either way though my goal is really to just lift as much as I can get up to before I leave

Guess I just answered my own question and decided ws4sb would benefit me more for boot camp.
What do you guys think of my chosen exercises for all around strength?
Monday
Thick Bar Bench
Incline DB bench
BB row
DB delt fly
BB russian twist (FCT)
Wed
Box Squats
Single Leg Squat (BB)
Leg Curls
farmers walk
Friday
BB bench
skullcrusher
weighted pull ups
DB shoulder press
hammer curls
abs
Only question is, will DB shoulder presses be enough to keep my milpress high? Same with deadlifts.

stick w/ SLs if you are still making progress. Or you can buy mark rippetoe's book starting strength 3rd edition. Or jim wendler 5/3/1
Dont do box squats unless you have someone there to show you how to do them correctly. Box squats are hard to do correctly unless you have someone that can critique you every rep.It surprises me how many people refuse to buy equipment from Elitefts because its too expensive but they will buy equipment from their competitors, then continue to go on EFS website to educate themselves for FREE
