in my professional opinion shrugs are necessary for people that want to do shrugs.
If what I see does not amaze me, I am not looking hard enough.
The more you learn, the more you realize you don't know.

They are necessary for me. My traps have always been a weak part of my physique. And I want balance before I want mass.
BTW, I've tried doing Hang Cleans, but they seem to be kinda hard on my joints. Any good alternatives?"Pain hurts, lemme tell ya. It can ruin your whole day." -Bill "Superfoot" Wallace

I feel it is an excellent exercise because not only does it hit the target muscle efficiently but it works on many other secondary muscles good too. It can be used in many different variations as well depending upon what works best for you. I use pronated grip barbell shrugs and alternated grip barbell shrugs. It gives my whole body a nice pump which is cool too.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. Unless you are struggling in that area I see no need. I did heavy bb shrugs front and back for awhile and pretty much noticed nothing.
My routine has upright rows, deadlifts and heaps of powercleaning so they get worked out pretty well.EoR is powered by unique Nanomolecular Hyperdispersion Technology. Giving him high bioavailability and myocellular saturation.
