Got my Rackable Hex Bar from Black Widow Training Gear (BWTG) for Xmas , so thought I'd post up a review now that I've got some time under it.
Was in the market for one and chose the BWTG model based on the price and this review: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...03&pagenumber=
Length is 74 inches, and the width is about 23 inches. I bought the powder coated version so cost was $175. You can see it on the BWTG site here: http://www.blackwidowtg.com/product_...le-hex-bar.htm
I'm in Canada, so had it delivered to Ogdensburg NY and picked it up there, paying about $29 HST at the border.
For what it cost in total, it is worth every penny to me and I am thrilled with it. Working around a couple of injuries that affect squat and normal grip anything, so the neutral grip and ability to do the trap bar deadlifts is great. I really like OHP with this bar, and Shrugs as well. I was using my Swiss bar for OHP but the width of it gets in the way so being in the middle of the rackable hex bar is great. I'm not a welding expert, but it seems consistent with my EliteFTS Swiss Bar in terms of how the welds look, and as you can see from animalfan's review he already inspected them on his non-coated bar and I think they passed the test I really like this company BWTG and will definitely order from them again.
In my photos, I threw in my Swiss Bar just so you can see them together. Also, I show on one photo a Rogue HG collar - these collars are are perfect for both the rackable hex/trap bar and the Swiss bar. I'd definitely recommend these (http://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-hg-collars.php) collars for either bar as they fit great. Might order another set at some point just so I have a backup.
The rackable hex bar weighs 29.6 pounds on my digital scale, so a little under what I was expecting but close enough to 30.
All in all, a great piece of equipment. Dean who owns BWTG was very responsive with updates when I asked a couple of questions while waiting for the order. I like supporting a company like this.

Thanks for the review.
I had sent them an email earlier today about a dumbbell row handle and a mini deadlift jack, but didn't get a response. In the meantime I realized that I can use my "super curl" bar for rows, so I think I may just invest the cash in something else instead."What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I should have put that in the review
Breakdown is 175 + 15.09 tax + 34 shipping, with a receipt total of exactly $224 from Dean, then the HST of 29 at the border, so around 250 out of pocket for me. On the phone something was up with his computer so Dean asked me what the website said the shipping was and at the time it was 34 to go from his shop around Manhattan to upstate New York in Ogdensburg. Strangely today it shows 40.69 on the site when it calculates. I'd have shipped it right to Canada but that wasn't possible yet, although on another post someone mentions that it is in the plans.Last edited by emp1acur; 01-04-2013 at 05:15 AM. Reason: fix
