So my "cheat day" is Saturday afternoon. My wife gives me that day to drink some beer and eat some terrible foods that I LOVE. This last Saturday I bought four 40oz Budlights and a pound of chicken gizzards to fry up. All said and done I woke up Sunday feeling plump and a tad hungover. Well as a joke she tells me to run the caloric intake and macros on what I'd eaten and drank.... get this.
I had my weight gainer for breakfast and then was at work till 330. Afterwards all I had was the gizzards and beer.
Macros were.
Fat 23g out of 106 required
Carbs 325 out of 439 required
Protein 226 out of 120 required
My app says what I "need" to gain muscle. I usually run closer to 180g of protein. What made me laugh is that after my "cheat" day I had consumed a hell of a lot more protein than I normally do with the chicken gizzards. Had to go online to see if that was accurate and it turns out they are one hell of a source of protein. Maybe I should drink a beer or two a day and eat more animal organs?
Just thought you guys would get a kick out of it.

As a caveat here I probably need to mention that growing up in a farming household we ate everything out of a butchered animal. Man I can't tell you how much I miss beef heart cut thin and pan fried then stacked in a sandwich with some garden fresh tomatoes. Oh and raw hamburger meat.... oh Lord how I LOVE raw hamburger meat..... drool......

Pwned... I'm the cook in my house and they pretty much they eat what I cook. I stick to my macros but make other things if they want them. Just got a deal on big packages of chicken thighs, been grillin' them, baking them and putting them in spaghetti sauce with mozzarella cheese on top. Had a good beer-swilling weekend too, got me and my sons some regular Coors and some Guinness as well. Don't know if it is the beer-chicken combo or not, but my lifts were good all weekend.
I have to give the gizzards a try, they look awesome. I know my cats always liked them and would almost kill each other when I put a plate of them on the floor.
