Hi Guys,
A year and half ago i used to be 240 lbs and decided to lose weight, as i had never done any kind of sport, and didn't care much about what i was eating, i just started to eat better, or should i say i ate a way i thought was better, but unfortunately it wasn't , i just starved myself, although it did what i wanted, lose weight.
So A few month after that ( like 6 or so ) i had lost 75 lbs, i was kinda happy of it, because people would tell me i'm lean or skinny, and that's kinda what i wanted to be, but under my clothes i was hidding a gigantic muffin gut, so i just thought i'd start workout.
I went to the gym, with no real programs and no real diet, and nothing happened,after a few month, not much result so i kinda lost my motivation, oh yeah i developed my strength for sure, and got a very little bit of muscle on my tiny arms but that was it.
I don't really know what to do, some says:
- eat arround maintenance, you'll lose some fat and with noob gains just add some muscle, then clean bulk you'll stay at same bodyfat but build muscle, then cut
- Cut first until you have a decent BF.
- Clean bulk then cut.
So as of today i don't really know wich way to go, am i skinny fat ? or just plain fat ? i'm 6"1 and 172lbs, Here goes the picture of the disaster.
Bf % ? I have a digital caliper but it doesn't seems that much accurate.

Great job on the weight loss man!
Personal preference here is to bulk. Eat 10% over maintenance and get on a proven program like Starting Strength or something similar. Bust your balls in the gym and you will get better.*Unaesthetic Crew* Disregard V-Taper, Acquire PRs Thread

- Cut first until you have a decent BF.
- Clean bulk then cut.
Based off those pictures you have the same status I have.
Here's what I been told in the past bulk and lift heavy.
Once you build a solid base cut but do it reasonable 1 pound a week till you get down to the bodyfat you want.
To get to a good base from those pictures you going to need to bulk for at least a year.

You lost weight rapidly and have little lbm. Classic skinny fat. Do a slow controlled bulk. As you add lbm the loose skin will tighten up and you will look better. May need a couple cycles but bulk for now. Good job on the progress
