Very cool! I had an aunt with downs, so stories like this are always awesome to me.

After seeing a hard workout you may want to complain and want others to pity you for the work you have to do. Your mom will pity you. Your girl will pity you. I may pity you, but your competition will not pity you. They will step on you, walk over you and spit on you. Boris Sheiko

No, I didn't mean to imply that.
She was just really cool. She mostly ate pringles, drank sprite, and watched soap operas until 2am. I'm not trying to get all touchy feely, but having her around while I was growing up certainly made me a more compassionate and loving person. She died about 4 years ago.
She also told the pastor at her church not to preach too long every Sunday. She was the only one that could get away with that, LOL!More weight is always more impressive... ShortDave

The gym I go to has a team of guys w/ Down's syndrome w/ their picture on the wall and everything. One of them is someone who went to the same school as me growing up. He has really severe Down's to the point where he wasn't able to speak really. I used to see him in the gym always working with a trainer, but now he comes in alone, puts his headphones on, and goes to town on the weights.

Wish I would've got a video at National meet earlier this year. Saw a double amputee warming up with 225 on deadlifts. He did all 3 lifts, but didnt get to see them.

At my last meet there was a special athlete, not sure if he had downs but yeah. Anyways it was really cool because at the end, Bull Stewart being the cool dude he is gave the guy a 1st place deadlift trophy, and the first place medals because he was technically in his own division, it was just really cool. Actually had a chance to talk to the athlete and he was a super nice guy! So much respect.

Wow, respect +1. Just goes to show no matter how much you whine about aching, don't feel like it, didn't eat enough - IT'S STILL YOUR MUTHAF*CKIN' SET.
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

About 10 of my non-lifting friends have shared this on FB. Pretty cool to see him, and maybe the sport, getting a bit more recognition.
