    New NYBB rack

Just noticed this rack on the New York Barbells website.
It looks like it can be bolted down. Looks interesting.

OK looking rack but it's a chinese made rack at the same delivered price (or more) as a Rogue, EliteFTS, or Legend.

Agreed, it looks like all the rest of thier racks, except with more holes. I wouldn't even consider it when you can buy this for about the same price and support your own economy...

I have seen the NYBB rack once and it is a beast.

I have to agree with the above posters, however. There are well-made options ere in the US for similar pricing.

Liked design of the top and bottom band hooks on the new NYBB rack. They look like j-hooks on my Powertec rack.

I've not been impressed with the quality of the two NYBB pieces that I bought - a leg extension/curl and a seated calf raise. The leg extension/curl broke after about two years of use. The weld holding the foot piece to the bar completely broke. The pads on the calf raise are inadequate, compressing all the way down and if I'm not careful allowing the board behind them to grind painfully into my thighs and requiring more willpower than I sometimes have to get through a calf workout. It's on the list to be replaced as budget priorities allow. Both of them felt a little rickety in use. One had some rust on it when it arrived.

I'd have saved more money by spending more money in the first place for something higher quality, and when there are higher quality options for the same price, I certainly wouldn't go with NYBB.

That's just my experience, of course. Maybe I got dud versions of dud pieces and they're otherwise great, but I don't remember NYBB getting much love from others either.

I have the NYBB C92563 rack, and it's been solid over the few years that I've owned it. But I agree with the others, for that price, I'm going with a different option.

They used 1" solid steel rods for their safeties, as stated on the link the OP provided and here: http://www.newyorkbarbells.com/safetybars.html
The size is pretty standard for racks using the safety rods without a pipe.

Anybody have their Titan 3x3 rack?

    It's $699 at thebenchpress.com

Their shipping quotes are much more reasonable than ordering directly from NYBB.

    http://www.thebenchpress.com/shop/td...6#.UOXDfkq9K0c

At 364 lbs, you certainly get a fair amount of 11 g steel per dollar...

So $700 before shipping and without the weight storage? I haven't tried out that rack personally, but considering the price, I would get the Sorinex Dark Horse over it. It should be about the same price as the TDS shipped, has a plate storage by default, and from what I had shown from recent threads regarding them, Sorinex's excellent customer support and quality control (both of which NYBB seem to fall behind of) also makes that rack a much better value.

NYBB Titan 3x3 would be better if you don't have space behind the rack for the add on weight storage. Also, inside hand spacing might be preferable at 44 inches.

Thebenchpress.com was offering it for around $835 shipped back in the fall, depending on your location.

By way of clarification, I'm referring to this rack:

I've seen one and it is a solid rack, but for an 8' rack & weight storage you're looking at $1000 + shipping--Dark Horse any day for me.

isn't the weight storage too close to the rear upright on that rack?

Maybe I'm partial to the NYBB rack because of all the great Youtube videos posted by Bastionhead, and the many attachments and gadgets he made for that rack:
