If I were to do a 1000 calorie deficit for 2 months..What would be the effect on my body?
Would my body adapt to the deficit and lower my metabolism?
And would I more muscle mass than doing 500 calories x 4 months? Assuming protein was high and heavy lifting was frequent

You will lose weight and yes your body would eventually adapt to the new amount of calories. You'd also likely after a while eat a lot for a period of time and gain it back because after a while your willpower isn't going t be enough since your body will be screaming out for food.

If the deficit is not completely just based on diet and takes into account exercise. If you eat to little, your metabolism will slow down and go into survival mode which isn't something your gonna want to do. And once you stop your prolly gain weight fast, and not good weight.

Yep, if you'd like to learn more about this, take a look at leptin and gherlin (think that's how you spell those hormones from memory, pre-med was a while back!).
