Howdy fellas! New to the site but I've been lifting for awhile for sports but now starting to get more serious about moving weight! A group of us are going on a cruise and 4 weeks out we decide to get on the Smolov Jr to try and see what gains we can make. Also, annnny tips/hints/suggestions on anything related please let me know, really new to this powerlifting thing ha. So started with a base of a 315 1R max for both BP and Squat. Usually do some accessory work too i.e. wide grip over pulls, tris etc. That's a pretty accurate BP 1R max, my squat is higher but for the heck of it we're using 315 for both. Finished up the first week:
12/24 225x6x6 Squat and 225x6x6/225x1x13 BP w/ accessory work
12/26 235x7x5 Squat and BP
12/28 250x8x4/315x1x8 Squat and 250x8x4 BP w/ accessory work
12/29 270x10x3 Squat Only
12/31 235x6x6 Squat and BP w/ accessory work
Feeling pretty good so far! I like it and it feels like I'm already getting stronger if true or not lol. Like I said, I'm new to all this so any advice or input is welcome. I've upped my caloric intake as well and have been trying to get more rest.
I'd really like to murder 315x2 on BP or get a 335x1R BP max out of this and ultimately back up to a 405 squat, but I'll be happy w/ 315x12 or 355x5-6. Thanks fellas!
