Got �500 xmas money, instead of chucking it into my ridiculously low interest rate ISA account, I've decided to actively 'make my money work for me'. Will use the following avenues;

-Lottery
-Gambling (sports, poker etc)
-Investing - penny stocks, forex etc...inb4 �500 is a pathetic amount to invest
please suggest any other methods.

first purchase: National lottery UK - draw wednesday 2nd jan - �7
current total funds: �493

filled out first 2 lines then got bored so just lucky dipped the rest.

Buy something cheap that you can flip for a profit. Iphone covers for example.or start off by making a high risk investment and keep your fingers crossed.

Buy 500 pieces of something that costs 1�, sell for 2�. Repeat.

For ****s sake OP, the government makes a profit from lottery which means YOU make a loss on average. Unless you get lucky. Stop buying lottery tickets, stop gambling, keep trading if you know what to do

I know but even if i made �50-�100 it would be much more than if I put into an ISA savings account

buy things on a site from another country that takes a long time to ship to your country and sell it for double.. some people dont have the patience to wait a month of shipping to get their purchases.

Good luck, I started forex trading with �500 at uni (9 years ago) and supported myself for 4 years, no debt nothing. It can be done if you work hard and have genuine interest in profitable avenues.

Stay away from lottery though lol!

In. Only got �140 for Xmas instead of 500 feelsbadman. Might do something similar when I am 18, I'd start by doing easy bets like say MAN U to beat X team, some casual football bets. Most reliable is probably to buy goods on ebay and sell them for a slight profit.

There is plenty of stuff on Ebay you can buy from abroad (if you buy more or contact the seller you can probably get better discounts) then you sell this stuff on Ebay UK for double the price, but undercutting anyone else that has done the same.

ive sold stuff on ebay in the past...the charges, hassle of postage/packaging...and customer complaints (trying to con me) was annoying...in the end someone hacked my paypal and tried to steal 1k from me...stopped it just in time but had to delete my bank link to ebay..so thats pretty much out the question
