There are several differences that could affect his total. Like having to walk out the weight. Or not having a deadlift bar. I'm not 100% convinced that Eric's squat depth would definitively pass in an IPF meet, I think Bill would agree. And that doesn't even consider weigh-ins and drug testing, I couldn't find anything on UPA's site to compare it to IPF.

Lilliebridge and Green. I've lifted with both and they're truly incredible. And while none of this matters, I've seen IFBB pro bodybuilders in person, yet Eric's physique still makes me say "holy ****" more than anyone else. Guy has the most insane traps and forearms I've ever seen.

Blaine Sumner squats 881 raw no wraps and Carl Yngvar Christensen is stronger with gear.
There's no way you can say this. Eric has never lifted in gear and never will be (I think he said that). No monolift, no deadlift bar, feet on the ground with bench, deeper squats and the drug testing.
Gotta be said aswell that Norway has a very strict drugtesting program, inseason and offseason.

everytime eric lilliebridge gets posted about on here you question his depth, i'm sorry but theres other big time lifters that have waaaay more questionable depth. show him some respect mang, if he lifted IPF i'm sure he'd do what he has to do to get his lifts passed(and of course his numbers might be slightly lower if he did I think). but he doesn't.

Yes, I agree he is not the only big lifter with questionable depth. I believe I've also said it looks like Stan has questionable depth. Not that it makes any difference what I think and they are still strong as fawk.
But by saying that he would do what he needed to get his lifts passed in the IPF and saying you think his numbers would be slightly lower, you are saying that his current squat depth is not good enough for IPF and thus also questioning his depth. So it sounds like you are mad at me for bringing it up but also agreeing with me. And that still doesn't change all the other variables like having to walk out his squats, not being on toes for bench, not having a deadlift bar for deadlifting, having to possibly pass a drug test, and of course the fact that he's never tried on gear before. It is still possible, that given time, he would be able to out lift CYC in single ply, but I don't believe it is as automatic as WorldDomnit was suggesting.

1) i think its possible, but I dont think its the same thing.
2) not mad, just when it's always brought up you look like a hater
3) probably smart move for young guy who has potential for some really epic greatness. IMO, PLing is squat, bench, dead not walkouts
4) i respect enhanced and non enhanced guys equally. i do not care what others put in their body
i really wasn't speaking on wether or not he can outlift CYC, but pointing out you seem like a eric lilliebridge hater cause you always point it out. and he's a really good lifter, if you don't like certain PLer's for those reasons thats like the majority of the lifters in the sport.

1. I said I'm not 100% convinced his squat would definitively pass. I guess that and "I think its possible" are in completely different worlds.
2. This is the Internet and bb.com, obviously it is going to be full of Internet judges and haters. Yes, I am a hater for anyone who gets away with high squats in competition regardless of fed, gear, or whatever other variable. I'm not 100% Eric falls into that category. I did ask him why he never films from the side and that he should film his squat from the side once to prove all of us haters wrong. I took his reasoning as some bs excuse but, then again, why should he cater to a bunch of random haters on the Internet so its all good.
3. You are right. You are allowed to get hand offs on bench so why would you need to walk out your squat? It isn't part of the actual lift. But having to walk out a sh!t ton of weight in gear does make it a bit of a different ball game. Once again, I'm sure he can adjust to it though.
4. Same here. But once again, someone who has to jump through those hoops has to play the game alittle differently than someone who doesn't. And it's impossible to know what kind of difference it really makes so I probably shouldn't even brought it up.
inb4 you think i'm like all the USAPL nuthuggers at just lift
inb4 Bill gets annoyed at all the raw vs gear and drug testing talk and locks this sh!t up real quick

I'm going to throw out a name I haven't seen yet: Anibal Coimbra. He just won his second IPF world championship, defeating the typically invincible Russians and Ukrainians, and proving his 2011 victory wasn't a fluke. He had the highest deadlift of all weight classes: 387.5@105. That's 854 pounds at 230. Drug-tested, if that matters.

+1 European champion, raw world cup winner and world champion in 1 year is also one hell of an achievement. Especially as a master-1 lifter.

Coimbra Anibal had the highest deadlift that day as a 105kg lifter which was quite remarkable as someone already mentioned.-also a record pull- Not to mention everything ziyedb mentioned. Honestly he probably had the best year overall and I didn't know about hmi that much until this thread which is great.
I'm biased toward Carl though since he set the most records this year and for his age group can't be touched in gear.

He won like every competition he entered this year-14 I think- while setting a few new world records. No doubt best year for a strongman and he is the GOAT strongman already so it just adds to his resume. Yet I think this thread is for powerlifting.

Regarding CYC, the age thing really doesn't hold up. Testsov is only 1 year older and so far he has 2 IPF golds. Although I will say, with more aggressive attempt selection CYC could have won at Worlds.

Testov has 1 IPF gold, 2011 was for Svistunov. Carl just had the win, only the front judge let him stand for about 5 seconds with the last deadlift before he said down, so he lost grip.

You're right, for some reason I thought Testov won in 2010 at 125. Still,, the two men are the same age basically but Testov has more medals, and won head-to-head. I can't see how anyone can argue CYC is better.

I'm not saying CYC is better, but I think he will be better. He has a severe knee injury and thats why he played safe on the squats (thats what he and his coach told in a documentary), otherwise he would have gone 460kg. And that deadlift was lockout out, only didnt get down signal on time. If that one was approved he would have won.
