I know the 80s decade is not talked about that much, because there were not so much " characteristics" in it, its not purely on aesthetics and artistic view like 60s and 70s, its not about mass and conditioning like 90s, and not about gigantism like 2000s. But I still think it has a major speciality, which is taking the lower body into a new level, most of the pros in the 80s had better legs than the previous generation (Tom Platz, Bertil Fox, Samir, Strydom) they all had amazing wheels.
So, who's your favourite pro from the 80s?
RIP Sergio Oliva ( 1941-2012 ) I will always remember you, a true legend, a myth that came true all of a sudden, I will never forget you because you're my mentor !!
I voted Platz because he made training/having legs a mandatory in the sport. Has one of the best set of wheels to this day!
I really liked Bertil Fox's physique. His name doesn't come up as often as some but from head to toe he was jacked!
"the reason why i do all that, put my body through all that is 'cause i love it!"- The GOAT
"Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars."- Khalil Gibran
"there is no substitute for victory."- Douglas MacArthur
"When you're out there partying, horsing around...someone out there at the same time is working hard. Someone is getting smarter, and someone is winning."- Arnold
He was a freaky freak...such a shame he didn't compete...crazy potential
Yeah, his body was something of a freak show long before there ever was one in the sport. When you look at his early teen years. It's just mind blowing.
Everything was huge long before the days of the new sports technologies came along.

When you looked like this as a young boy. You have the genetics.
Then when other Pro's see you and go wtf????
That life time bulk! He sure was huge but i don't think he would have done that great in competition, he was out of proportion. He looked great in those young stage photos though

Typical response, but he wasn't walking around with a bloated gut ever either. He was most always in great shape year around. He was easy the Ronnie Coleman of the 1980's.
