Firstly well done at wanting to change. Now learn about nutrition, go to the nutrition section it has all the information there and don't be scared to ask someone if you are struggling to get a grip on it. Then use a structured program that has proven results i.e. starting strength which you will learn about in the workout section. Also incorporate cardio as many days as you feel you can do. Don't be too disheartened if you aren't seeing HUGE improvements because it will take time.
I hope you enjoy the journey and can achieve what you want to achieve......GOOD LUCK man!

Oh and another word of advice, this site is full of information that's extremely easy to access (stickies, articles etc...) people will be more ready to answer questions when you are specific. Simply writing "i want to lose weight" is not going to garner the response you want since hundreds of people ask the same general questions, your more likely to get an irate response, if any, then actual information. Go do some research then comeback with a specific inquiry and you'll get the answer.
hopefully this isn't a troll post......

It's hard to help with such a vague issue. You need to do three things
1 diet.
2 lift.
3 stay consistent.
Read through the stickies in the nutrition section. Calculate your caloric needs. Eat at a deficit.
Sign up to a gym and lift heavy. Not only will lifting burn calories to aid in fat loss but it will help you retain the muscle you have. Making your journey easier and more fulfilling. Even if you don't want to be bulky, or built, strong or jacked, you still will be better off with lifting.
Most importantly whatever you decide to do STICK WITH IT. It is going to take a good while, everyone's journey does. As long as you keep focused and keep going in the right direction you'll be fine. Remember it's not about where you are, it's about where you end up.
In your case you may need a touch of counseling. Assuming you are the same OP from that thread in the teen section."The hardship of the exercises is intended less to strengthen the back than to toughen the mind. The Spartans say that any army may win while it still has it's legs under it; the real test comes when all strength has fled and the men must produce victory on will alone." (Pressfield,1998, p.78)
