Omg... Yummm. Serious food porn in this thread!
I made a cheesecake yesterday. A cheesecake that wouldn't put my calories through the roof, but I didn't have enough cream cheese so I used greek yogurt. I also used Stevia. I hate fake sugar. It all tastes like crap.
The damn cheesecake DID turn out, but it has an almost grainy texture and I can taste the nasty stevia. Darn.

Thanks Vic
if you're gonna make cheesecake make real one just have a smaller slice
and stevia is sooo nasty I agree .. I see cheesecake as a very nutritious dessert especially if you use fresh berries
break it down and you'll see a slice of ck is not that bad ... 150-200 calories at most
you're probably better off using low fat cream cheese if you want to cut down on some of the calories,
try putting less sugar in the cheese mix but sweeten the berries you put on top
so when you first bite into it you get the sweetness first and trick your brain ..
I don't like overly sweet desserts anyway and to be honest compared to european desserts/pastries, the US versions are so much sweeterwho says love has to be soft and gentle ?

That would be awesome if I wasn't a hog... Seriously, I cannot stay away from my own cooking. Baking, sweets, desserts... I can't leave them alone if I have made them and they are in my house. I don't know why. I can go places and say no to dessert there.
I was trying to make a macro happy cheesecake, although your very right about it being a healthier dessert. I struggle with sugar as well. If I have refined sugar I seem to crave it all day long. If I don't have it, then I am ok. Again not sure why. Probably all in my head!

I am lucky I don't like sweet stuff so much .. cheesecake though i love and can eat a lot of it so I know exactly what you're saying
the thing with sugar is that if you start putting less in your foods you'll get used to it and you won't notice the difference after a while .. kinda like salt or other seasonings/spices you have to retrain your brain and taste buds and then you can make a serious cut in the amount you eat..
I was just checking out a slice of Starbucks cheesecake, it's pretty big and 450 calories
I'm pretty sure an home made one has less calories than that so it's not too badwho says love has to be soft and gentle ?
