To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift. - Steve Prefontaine
Motivation: Down from a peak weight of 296lb ~4 years ago, I've made progress but I expect more of myself. I've never been lean in my life, I want to experience it.
Initial Condition (January 1, 2013): 204lb. 39" Waist. 25% Body Fat (Home Bio-Impedance Scale).
The body fat measurement is likely off but I'll use it to provide a general target.
Target: 160lb by July 1, 2013. If weight loss is 80% fat, that should bring me to 10% body fat. That seems low, the last time I weighed that much I was about 13 years old. I'll trust the math for now.
Tracking: Weight measurements weekly (Mondays). Waist and body fat measurements monthly (1st Monday of the month).
Eating Plan: 1800 cal/day. 180g P, 135g C, 60g F. Tracked using MyFitnessPal.

Retook measurements this morning. 2lb down, the last of the Christmas bloat. Body fat measurement up 2% to 25%, which seemed high until I took pictures today; I was not fully aware of how out of shape I am. Adjusting initial measurements and target accordingly (first post edited). Also Jan 1 picture added to my BodySpace; I will add this picture to first post of this log when I reach 50 posts.

Log is due for an update.
January 18: 200lb (-4), 23% BF (-2), 38" Waist (-1)
The year has not had a great start. A mix of injuries and sickness has kept me out of the gym. I've been eating fairly well but have not been tracking calories/macros closely. I am feeling better now, not 100%, but well enough to get back to working out.
Tested my actual 1-rep maxes today. I have not lifted since November and wanted to establish a baseline to compare to in July.
Squat: 265
Bench: 175
Press: 125
Deadlift: 365
Those numbers need a lot of work and I wonder if I have sufficient lean mass to cut down to a 6-pack. I definitely need to cut for now.

The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings. - William Shakespeare
That quote would have made more sense if I had updated this log two days ago.
March 17: 200lb (-4), 22% BF (-3), 37" Waist (-2)
Nearly 11 weeks in and I've made little progress. I'm certainly not going to reach the goal of a 6-pack on July 1, 2013 at this rate. It has been a failure of consistency. Time to refocus.Last edited by DamianMK; 03-18-2013 at 08:28 AM.
