Are people actually watching their macros, or just protein?

So lately in most post I have seen about eating to bulk or cut or anything else, it seems like the most common advice people give is to make sure you get your protein and eat all your calories. I seldom see anyone mention eating the correct number of fats or carbs for that specific person. Lately I have been bulking, and I am stressing over getting not just the right number of protein, but also fats and carbs. I was just curious as to if when people say protein and calories it is implied they also mean fats and carbs, or if they are really only watching protein and calories. Thanks!

Really? You must not have been looking in the right forum section.

Fat intake should be ~0.4-0.5g/lb at a minimum.

I generally just try to eat equal amounts of fat and protein (in grams) then carb up once a week on things like rice and sweet potatoes and treat myself to some ice cream. I don't count calories.

Sorry maybe my question was unclear. I myself know what fat should be at. I have been keeping up with my macros. It just seems like many people only track protein and calories. Im not saying that doing it that way is wrong, in fact it would be way easier than tracking fat and carbs also.

This is what I was talking about. I am starting to feel obsessed about all of my macros as well. Do you at all keep up with your other macros mentally, or just assume that you are getting enough of them since you are getting the correct amount of calories and protein?

I do not strictly count macros, I eyeball them and run off of that.
Giving up is not an option.

not really, i know i get enough fats (prob around 70-100 grams). counting and trying to manipulate food to hit a certain fat and carb macro would be a pain in the dikkkkk.

as long as u dont avoid fat (ie only skim milk, fat free cheese, super lean meats like chicken breaast, egg whites ect) you should easily hit enough fat

Just track your calories and protein intake. Everything else will balance out on its own well enough to make gains. Don't make it anymore complicated then it has to be, which it really isn't to begin with.

If you know you get enough fat on average then counting can become superfluous

I dont count protein either because I know I get enough of everything

i mainly just count calories and protein. carbs and fat will fall into place, not really finicky about exact intakes with those.

I count everything (carbs, fats, protein) and the plans usually work out as planned.

Takes the guesswork out of the overall picture. Personal preference, but I never liked the hope for the best strategy.

It's not hard once you're used to it.
